Thread: Can a merchant place a vendor for me??
I dont know but if you were on Bria you could use my vendor to sell your stuff and make a generous offer for the use!

- You have no control over the vendor [you can't stock your own products in essence]
- You have to give Admin to somebody else.
- When somebody buys the product, the $$ goes to the person who owns the vendor, as well as the sale email.
You would have to find a merchant that is honest and doesn't mind stocking your stuff. The only option you could have would be to "offer" these items to him at the price you want and let them sell it as they see fit (for more $$).
I tried doing this for a bit with somebody in my PA, but it became overwhelming to try and keep up with what was sold and what needs to go up.
I decided to start up a 2nd account and have them become a merchant.
It would be nice if they made vendors "deeds" and people who don't have the merchant line only get to put one down.
I am in a PA that has a designated PA merchant who operates most of the vendors for me an all the other crafters so we don;t have to waste any skill points on merchant skills. Having a vendor registered on the planetary map is almost required if you want to make any money off vendor sales and for that you need a merchant. I do quite well. Until the recent patch my vendor was earning 2 million credits a week on pet stim and tissue sales (mostly pet stim) with the occasional Rancor or Gurrek sale. Since the BE patch my sales tripled with double sales on the vendor where I sold quite a few Kimogilas anmd CL30-35 pets as well as 1.5 million in sales from custom ordered pets all of which were orders resulting from random tells I got wearing my Master BE tag around starports as I shuttled between Corellia, Dantooine, Endor, and Dathomir on DNA sampling trips.
The PA provides me with harvesters and all harvested resources at no direct cost as well. Of course, I do split 50% of my gross with the PA but heck, I am running around with 5 mill int he bank I have no use for so I could care less. Whenever the spac expansion comes out I will be well set financially to buy myself several starships...

You can't control a vendor unless you have the skill to use it. A merchant could place one for you, but you would need to give him the items for sale and have him place them on the vendor. Alternately you could offer the items to the vendor. He buys them from you through the vendor and places them for sale.
I have a vendor (3) on Naboo and the best way for a BE or whatever to use a vendor is get together with a merchant and agree on a price from you to the merchant. Then offer the items to them thru the vendor. They buy the items and put them up for sale. All the paperwork and money hassles between the 2 of you are resolved that way.

Actually, if you can temporarily spare the skill points, all you need to do to get a vendor is take Novice Artisan, and grind through Business III. (You can do this in one session, really). Business III will give you the ability to place one vendor (the clunky machine type). Once you place this in your home and get it running, simply surrender the artisan points when you need them back. You keep your vendor. You only lose the vendor if you decide to move the building you've placed it in, even if you no longer have the artisan/merchant skills that got you that vendor.

While this is totally true - and I actually have one vendor for deliveries like this, it may change in the future - I just don't think they've figured out a good way to do it yet.

I'm a Master Merchant and lurk on their forums a lot. This is something that is going away in a near future patch (at least according to what the devs have told that community).
ATM, the best way is what someone described above, have an agreement with a merchant to sell the stuff to them at some price and then leave it up to them to deal with keeping the vendor stocked and whatnot. Truthfully, it actually is a lot less hassle for you if you get a good merchant to work with you. Work out the deal so that they know in order to get their vendor with product, they need to notify you that they are running low of certain items. Then all you have to do is sell it to his vendor... or even just trade the deed to them for money if you run into him. He'll be able then to handle all the maintenance of the vendor for you and maybe even place the vendor with a lot of others, which will drive up your sales.
I'd rather hawk in Coronet that trust a Merchant
(j/k....kinda)
There are a lot of dodgy merchants out there (pay 50CR to see an empty vendor thats marked on the map as "Lottsa Resources Always Stocked", anyone?)
If you could cut a deal where the Merchant buys from you, and then resells, that'd be a different story (and more like what a real merchant should do)...
