Greetings to all,

I hope someone can help me with an answer to this,

I am a Master Bio Eng with one of my characters, I have ranger to go along with this great profession. The problem is, that I cant get DNA that is worthy of a master. I goto endor, dathomir, dantooine and all I find is low lvl animals. With ranger and the ability to scan over 400 meters for animals all i get is Robas runts, Bolle's, Pickets , and prubols. Does this have to do with my non combat skills? I would appreciate any feed back that anyone would have ... thanks

Hi El-Carpeta,

It really depends on what you are looking to make. go to www.swgcreatures.com. There you will find a most excellent database of creatures, where they can be found (sightings)and even what the average stats of the dna.

Some of the better bases creatures you can sample off are the Bark Mite Borrower Queen on endor as well as the Bark Mite Borrower. On Dathomir, you have the Mutant rancors of whom may have lower resists to Kinetic but have great potential for pushing HAM and damage.

If you would like to experiment out of game to see how different creatures pair up with each other, you can use this tool http://home.satx.rr.com/grelgenswg/clone.html

If you arent sure about getting specials to stick, check some of the threads here that discuss the various ways to achieve this. The community at large is still trying to understand specials and how they work. The results you see are from the experiments that other BEs have conducted.

There is also a thread on creature recipies, you may want to check it out.

I'm failry certain your not having a combat skill doesn't limit the spawns you'll run into. I've been combat innefective too many times in my BE career, yet still found Mutant Rancs, BMBQs, TMBs, Ancient Grauls, etc... on regular basis (except those grauls). It all has to do with where you're looking. While you may not be able to spawn the missions from the terminals, they're still out there. As far as the ranger tracking ability, I would not put too much faith into what it is telling you. I've been sampling on dathomir with a ranger buddy, and at master, when he would use his tracking ability, he didn't find any rancors. We moved about 80m, and there was a spawn of five of them.

There are a few threads on the board as to where to find these critters, and others that are good in making creatures, and if you can't find what you're looking for here, try SWG Creatures, they've added maps of planets and people are posting where they've found the spawns.

Good luck, and happy sampling.

Mainly u have to watch out for in Ranger, is that if u are in a Zone that has had No people frequent it in a relatively long time . the zone despawns. therefore Ranger track won't pick up anything, because the server hasn't Populated the area yet.. Thats why its not always a bad idea to send someone there ahead of everyone else, head out on a speeder zip all over the area head back to the oputpost to meet up.
