Thread: My experience while sampling mutant rancors

sampled some tonight for the first time . Im not mastr scout , just enough to get my taming , and i was wearing +25 mask scent clothing . I tried the sneak up on them approach about 15 times and always got spotted . i found to better ways which have been mentioned on here before .
1) Drive up to them get them fighting and stand in the middle of them and dont move, when they stop fighting (takes about 10-20mins) , just sample them get on your bike and run if they spot you , otherwise just get off bike and sample again . iv'e never been detected without mask scent apart from sometimes when a new one spawns right next to you . if theres a big group i think you better off without mask scent as they tend to spot you anyway . if theres one i risk using mask scent so if it moves i can follow it.
2) find the nest and set a WP . now ride miles away and drive back quickly . You can usually get to your WP in the middle of rancors and stop dead still before they creatures appear . then hop off and on bike to sample .
