I am novice BE with DNA Sampling I. In Beta, I was a Master BE. I thought I would give it a go again in live since I'm getting bored and messing with DNA was always fun for me..
Anyway, I just DNA sampled 100 times... I lasted 3 Muon Gold doses of DNA sampling with only 7 successes. This is stupid.
Granted, I only have DNA Sampling I, but I had ony SEVEN successes.
7% success rate. Is this typical now?

your success is now partially based on your sampling skill lvl vs the lvl of the creature you are trying to sample. try sampling CL 10 and below creatures, if you werent already.

Yeah, that's what's confusing me... having mastered BE during beta, I knew that...
I was sampling Gnorts and Spineflaps, Nunas and the like... with only a 7% success rate... Granted, I only have Sampling I, but I remember it being at least 50%, usually more.

Ugh. I feel your pain man. I SERIOUSLY dread DNA sampling. When I have a customer that just wants a Jax for home decor... I find myself saying... 5 whole DNA samples???
I got BE 'cause I thought it'd be fun, but the DNA thing just makes it REALLY hard. Oh to be a weaponsmith who can get all thier ingedients from harvesters. *sigh*
I'm leveling on the tissues tree, but that can only go so fast, 'cause I'm a non-com and meat is hard to come by.

I'm begining to think maybe the success rate at novice has some problems. I've seen many posts from newbie BE's having low success rates sampling what I would consider newbie critters. Being a master myself I can't really collect any hard data on it. What's needed is a new BE to come up with a list of creatures in a cl range and the success rates on them. SWGCenter has a fairly comprehensive list of creatures with CL.

My numbers showed that you will have higher success rates and fewer aggros if you sample higher level critters. And better samples to work with. And more exp. As long as you don't mind the critters dying every postive sample.

If you dropped it in beta you couldn't have hung around very long. Most people got sick of he fact every failure was the aggro, thankfully those who actually were in beta to test and not get a free ride managed to get that changed in time for release.
