While reading Aglanon's post about making master BE for his FS slot (welcome aboard, by the way), there were two things mentioned by others that I wondered about:

1. "MNS, will take less meat by about 5k, but will result in 25% more combines. Its really a toss up, just do what one you prefer. Btw, do your combines away from a crafting station."

Why do your combines away from a crafting station? I haven't come across this in any previous posts or guides, and I've read quite a few.

2. "BE exp from crafting clones is borked right now, so your best bet to get the best gameplay experience while still getting experience is to spend some time on DNA sampling at first until clone exp is fixed, just making clones to get more DNA from."

I've made clones but haven't figured out how to sample from them. If I drop them in my house I can't sample from them because they're furniture (I guess that's why, anyway) but if I call them I can't sample from them because now they're pets. How do I sample from the creatures I create?

i can just use the radial from my inventory /shrug ... but then again i can also use the radial on the creature after it is dropped as furniture too

Maybe that's the problem. I was trying to use my /sampledna macro and never looked to see if Sample DNA was on the radial dial... I'll try it when I get home. Thanks!

Now, about that "do your combines away from a crafting station" thing....?

Being near a crafting station does two things: Allows experimentation (which you don't want while grinding), and enables more schematics to be made (which throws off the numbering scheme for opening schematics). Making MNS is easier away from a station, but the grinding macro can be modified to deal with it. The real key is to set up your macro either near a station or away from one, and then every time you do it, just be in the same status.

Scent camo requires a station, so I had my droid called out every time I was grinding.

Sample your clones while in inventory. You say you can't sample them when called. Does that mean you tamed them? That prevents sampling. And the radial menu is the way to do it.

away from crafting station is so not to experment. can just use enter keys then most it.

to sample is macro /sampledna no idea why they could not even fix that <shrugs>
