Is there a chart anywhere that tells me as a 0/0/0/0, which creatureI can sample? I'm just sampling corellian butterflies and such now but if I could be sampling bigger, beter things for more xp, I would. Thank you.

I don't know of a list of creatures to sample, but here's what I just did to get thorugh the Sampling branch:

For Sampling I, I just went outside one of the cities and sampled all the gubbers, durni, and butterflies I could find (this was Corellia, obviously)

Sampling II, I started taking missions for creatures a bit bigger, such as bagerasets. On the way to and from the mission I would stop and try sampling whatever looked interesting, like dire cats (the first aggro critter I successfully sampled!) or wrix.

Sampling III, I moved to Dantooine and found piket longhorn walkers (think thats the proper name?) gave great experience per successful sample (370xp points) and are non-aggro. Happily, I found I could get missions for these guys, so I could sample a lair to death, getting experience AND credits.

Sampling IV, more piket missions! Just couldn't pass up the money!

Of course, I did have to explore other worlds to keep from going crazy..Rori, the tortons of all types give decent experience, sharnaff on Corellia were nice but I failed a lot (at the time), and Dathomir...Dath was an interesting experience.

Hope this helps!

When I did BE the first time...I did a similar method....However....Instead of going to Dantooine (I hate that planet)I just hung aroundCorellia, where I was living at the time, and sampled the crap out of Sharnaffs and Sharnaff Bulls. About the same XP...but you don't have to leave the planet.

For other planets youcan do the same thing...Tatooine, just head out and sample anything 6-9k ham (Desert Razorbacks, Giant Sand Beetles...etc.)

The reward for Piket missions is nice tho...and it will help you with funding your early stages...

On this trip around, I will camp on Dantooine, even tho I hate that planet...because I need the money.

I've done sampling 1-3 (so far) entirely on Endor. Planet is full of animals...

arachne hatchlings, crazed gurreck, blurrg hunters and the little borgles (the CL15 ones)are good to start with

then I moved to arachne drones, gurreck forest stalker, blurrg hunters (still), crimson blurrgs, bloodseeker mites, and there's a bigger kind of borgle (CL30-ish)

then I did venom-filled arachnes, drones (still), hilltop gurreck, any blurrg lower than CL40 (I CAN sample the CL50 ones, but it takes too long and I get aggroed too often), and the and any type of bloodseeker mite and/or borgle.

So yeah.... that's how I've done it so far.

I started BE when most of our up & coming guild BE's left the game for different reasons. I was mainly going to do it for clothing tissues to help our tailor, and for pet stims for our CH's of the guild. Our city is on Dantooine and I did all my sampling out there.

DNA I & II

I did lesser plains bol missions. They are CL 10 and my city mission terminals are 500m from lair for 1k per mission. Each spawn yields 5 bols and if they attack you can kill it with novice medic heals and marksmen pistol. Get 2 missions, bring lots of Muon gold and mass sample each mission. Can finish a mission sometimes before Muon downer and then craft templates in the field waiting out downer for crafting xp.

DNA III & IV

Plains Piket Walker missions. Can get these solo for 9k a pop. Finish out lair and craft in downtimes like bols missions. 3 will spawn per round and they don't DB. Plus Dantooine offers enough aggro mobs to test out sampling skills as you progess in skill.

This method II will seem the longest to achieve, and in crafting templates in field you can get a feel for how the numbers work when going for templtes on junk DNA.

Cheers!

For sampling 1 and 2 I did creatures like swarmming lesser dewbacks and giant desert womp rats on tatooine. Once I hit 3 I went to lok and took gurk missions. Missions give about 8.3-8.8k per and yeild 9 gurks total. I liked gurks better because it always seemed that pikets would spawn at least 1 baby per lair and you can't sample them. Also the lag on dantooine was awful and my warningshot/peace macro wouldn't work there.

I'm not a Be but it's one profession that I will try for sure when ever I get a chance. I wanted to know if the level of pet that you can sample is restricted to your skills. So for example if I'm a novice can I only sample creatures that are level 12 and under? Or does my skill only determine my chances of success?
