May of already be said but going to say my way i found after hours of being annoyed

when finding a lair drawing one away is a good thing keep an eye and fly away to stop agro maskscent back on swoop

target the rancor and fly back at him with /dismount ready and the mouse cursor on tool bar for sample dna

get very close press enter click sample dna in one quick go

now your off the swoop and sampling they sometimes dont pick you up and your free to follow as they plod back to home if they do detect just back on swoop

doesnt work everytime but was good for me
