i died so many times sampling MR it wasn't even funny. and i only had 4 samples to show for it. oh well. however, i know some people were once discussing whether or not you could sample while prone, and i think it was decided that you can't, however i found that you can...sort of. as long as you just stopped moving. so when i'm laying in the middle of MR's i scoot and inch..sample. scoot again...sample again etc. doing that way i never actually have to get up. i'm probably not the first person to notice that, but just in case, thought i'd share.

This may be true but I prefer to be standing for when I eventually have to run. I can normally run the 60m or so to my bike before I get killed.

MR's vary a lot. Sometimes they consistently break MS at 64m, other times you can get close first time and they never see you come. I always go in on speeder, dismount, sample, and mount and speed away when they aggro. Very easy to get away when my speeder is right next to me - a /mount Speederbike Swoop is all I have to do.

I crawl around too, but my sample macro is /stand;/pause 3;/sampleDna... that way runing is easier... otherwise you will die a lot.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

i tend to die a lot regardless. although the last time i went out, i only died once and managed to get 7 samples. i've also decided because of that there is no rhyme or reason as to why you get detected. the last time i went out i just had on my mask scent clothes(plus my own mask scent) and this time i had my mask scent clothes and jawa beer. i got detected more times and by almost every creature than i did last time. the last time i was just walking right up to rancor youths and grabbing samples. this time i couldn't even get near them.

Just curious why you don't get buffed before going out there? the 10k or so is well worth the time you save cloning, driving back and forth, etc. I've always gotten buffed before sampling, and never have to worry about death. I do like the crawling over to them trick, and even in that position, buffs give me plenty of time to stand and get to my bike and drive off before making another run.

Never found buffs necessary though a bite of synthsteak does help.

well with out buffs its kinda hard to live and sample another day.

may i suggest getting some mask sent clothing, buying a crate of jawa beer, and trying again. but walk up, when they spot u, just stop. mask sent again and keep walking up to it. when u get within 15 m u can sample.

that is what i do and get at least 2 every time i go. but i havent had too much of a demand for pets, so i have not gone in a while.

ill try and see if i can spend a whole day sampling and getting MR dna. would it be a crime to sell it on the trade forum?? dont want to get flamed but if i can get it then maybe u can use it.............just a thought.

well good night

I wouldn't say it was hard without buffs unless your lagged all the time maybe. With buffs there's no excitement in it if I wasn't running for my life every so often would really make sampling MR's borring. My standard configuration while sampling MR's is my one piece of mask scent clothing and no armor a bite of synthsteak, some jawa beer and some brandy. sheesh I'm a lush....
