Thread: Mount orders are already pouring in
I received an orderfor a kaadu mount available today. The gomer offered 100K if he can take delivery and ride away this evening ![]()
You can't gouge a customer if he's stupid can you?
I hope you guys ground empathy 4 ![]()
Should pay off soon enough, though
hehehe
I've been giving my fellow HOBO's animals to "grow" in their datapads. We all stand to make money from this patch ![]()
There is a viscious rumor going around my galaxy forum regarding BE pets not being tamable as mounts. I have an idea it stems from the fact a number of our pets are still broken and the creature handlers are not exactly sure which kaadu is CL10.
Unfortunately it has a lot of people questioning whether or not a BE animal can be tamed as a mount. Also, no matter how many times you say it people still won't understand why they can't buy a mount right here right now. I've been asked how you grow an animal ![]()

In a test tube of course!
The un-mountable BE pet rumour stems from the large number of people taking a BE deed, taming it, and trying to train it as a mount immediately. Not enough people understand that a pet has to be at least 60% grown before the option to train it as a mount will show up
As a BE who doesn't have any CH, do you have to "tame" it in order for it to grow? or will it grow, once it is made?
It's calmed down a bit now, but I finally had to put up an afk message to email me about pet orders. i've sold out my vendor and all the dna I could carry and still have orders coming in. I love it ![]()

Speaking to you in your role as our correspondent - Maybe I am in a minority, I don't know, but I am finding the current state of things extremely frustrating and unsatisfactory from a personal and character point of view.
I am a MBE/MCH who was really looking forward to the first few weeks of mounts. I have a very strong feeling that once vehicles come out the demand for mounts will drop through the floor, unless vehicles are limited in such a way that makes them basically worthless. Higher speed andnot counting as a pet (bio/droid/faction) far outweigh any potential cost issues given the amount of money available to any character in the game. On that basis, I was hoping that I would be able to use my complementary skills to provide mounts at a reasonable rate to customers, creating them under BE and training them with CH. However, the requirement for them to be almost full grown makes that impossible. I refuse to do half the job, either by selling an untrained pet or by training a pet supplied by someone else and don't see why I should have to.
The ONLY possible reason I can see for having the growth requirement for mount training, as opposed to riding, is to slow down their rate of introduction into the game. I can train a worrt to attack a rancor without fear but I cannot train a bol to accept a rider? I am not saying the first makes any sense, but that using spurious arguements about the pet not being big enough yet are trying to put an inconsistent gameplay spin on a design issue that clearly has nothing to do with any concept of reality. If I can train a 14" long frog to attack 12 tons of carnivore, I can use techniques to train a 9' long baby bol to accept a rider.
I know I am in a funk atm, have been since the whole being called an exploiter by TH (my secondary char is a BH with some CH skills), but I have held onto my BE skills for over a month now with the hopes that this publish would be a major step forward. And now I feel like not even logging on, because I am getting constant emails and tells asking for mounts but I will not provide a faulty product (from my point of view) and it gets very disheartening having to constantly reply "sorry, no, the pets need to grow before I can train them as a mount".

do people not know they have to be what 60% grown before mount training?
i tried to explain it, but people just kept asking why I can tame/train mount right on the spot.
I hate people sometimes...well maybe not, but I hate their ignorance.
