Thread: Master BE, then what?

Hi all, been a MBE for about 6 weeks now. to start with i found it a fun profession, even now i still enjoy the thrill of the hunt...spot a muntant rancor, go prone at 50m, crawl 1m, pause 2 secs....etc. but what exactly is the class good for? hardly anyone wants a pet nowadays, most of my sales are for animated house signs ie a razor cat named "welcome to XXXXXX's gunshop". there are just as many people who heal their pets with Med stims as opposed to pet stims....BE tissues are useless ( might not be if you could gain more than the +25), so i usually find myself running round, collecting a bunch of samples, making up a bunch of the usual creatures we've all made and seen before hundreds of times, and then hitting the destroy option in the radial. i have 2 other accounts, one a MCH/pistoleer and even the fact that my BE crafted pets can be used by him doesnt really cut it anymore, there are only so many pets he can hold and to be honest Master pistoleer + Krayt Fwg5 = 90% of mobs dead within seconds no matter what is tanking for you. im not flaming the BE prof but is this really all we do? am i expecting too much from it? hehe i guess im speaking rhetorically and i already know the answer to that one. any tips ,( go put your head in a meat grinder isnt what im looking for ) on how i can spice up my gametime without dropping BE and going commando/BH hehe, cheers

i mastered BRE today and im loving every minute of it


i have teamed up with a talor and im all busy making clothing enhancements


there is a ton of work to be done and i know there are lots of ppl that only use pet stims.

Heh, i already started dropping BE faster than a lead baloon. this post just made up my mind. Armorsmith here i come...

I sell attachments by the CRATES, I sell MANY pets (mainly for PvP pets and mounts), my pet-stims also sell by the crates and in singles. I am a multi-millionare becuase of JUST BE.


BE was my first proffesion, just cannot seem to drop it.I love it and the money it brings me. It is a great proffesion imo.

Damiac, it is clear that you enjoy the fighting aspects of this game more than the crafting..are you sure armorsmith is gonna be much more exciting?

You running around making the same type of pets, could be why you are bored.

Have you tried to develope any consistant template recipes to distinguish yourself from other BE's?

As armorsmith, you are even more restricted on what you can do..there is only so much resists you can put into composite armor, then what?

Atleast with creatures, you can try different aproaches to get a CL 25 armored pet with good resists and high damage output.

Or the best non ch pet on your server,,there is plenty to do with this profession since the changes..

You my friend, will not be happy as a crafter plain and simple....you will never be able to "tank" anything in the game in 10 secs as a BE unless it is city trash.

So why waste your time as a crafter unless you are holo grinding?

I've dropped after being Master for a few months. No one on my server seems overly interested in BE'd pets, and I really don't want to become the "usual" crafter, running factories/harvesters/vendors to sell Tissues and Pet stims. Running around all day and checking harvesters is not my idea of fun.

I've opted for a combat class.

Hehe, youre partly right i guess but im really not into all that combat stuff. i occasionally hunt (PvE) with my CH but i spend more time on my master wepsmith. i kinda like all the resource gathering and the community of customers/friends that you can soon build as a wepsmith. BE however, at least for me, has never seemed to attractaregular customer base. most pets are more or less identical and its almost impossible to distinguish your product from the next MBE's. for example, i can create a Fwg5, enhanced with Krayt tissue, slice it and offer a premium product that will encourage customers to return at a later date. when im churning out the usual cl 35, 10k HAM, AR1 standard fayre, nobody is impressed enough to remember my name and keep my vendor WP in their Dpad. Of coarse the other bonus to crafting skills like armorsmith or weaponsmith is i can mine over 100k of resources in less than a day, whereas the sampling of bull rancors will often yield such low returns as 15 samples per 4 or 5 hr hunt. then to top it all off, first 5 samples are destroyed in a crit fail.


the aim of this post was to try to get some of you to talk me round i guess; to give me some ideas and encouragement. encouragement and ideas you have supplied but i still cant even contemplate any sort of future in the BE prof. its just too boring. the biggest stinker is that the best pets i have atm are the ones from before the patch. 13.5k HAM rancor, cl5 ( thats right, 5!) adult bluurg etc etc. hehe, i bet that doesnt last too long in my CH's Datapad now...
