Hi guys,

Have seenthat some have managed to carry over the resists of a 2nd gen clonewhen placing the2nd genDNA in the 5th slot. Does this work all the time for any ofyou?

Have worked out some rough ideas on paper and this is what im planning

Mutant Rancor

BMBQ

BMBQ

Frenzied Graul

Recycled Dna

in that order. Recycled combo is as follows

Mutant Rancor

Horned Voritor

Mutant Rancor

Horned Voritor

Mutant Rancor

This is to create a creature with Strong Poison and Dizzy. Doing it this way has worked for me before.

Can anyone can help me with this? am trying to create a 12k ham pet (under CL70) with 50-60% resist to kinetic and energy with good resists also to electricity and heat without having any vulnerabilities or if need be, in something like cold or stun. am trying also to stick a strong poison in there too.

Thanks!

If you have armor, does the SP2 from the physique slot always stick? if in this case, where does sp1 come from? would this be from slot 2 and 4 or, slot 5? having said this, if you put 2nd gen dna in slot 5, does it negate SP2 from slot 1 and just carry the specials over from the 2nd gen dna in slot 5?

Am feeling pretty confused on how to get the specials to work while trying to keep the important bits and raise the resists on kinetic and energy while holding vulnerabilities to uncommon types such as cold

was looking at my set up and was trying to find a way to raise the kinetic defense on the recycled creature for the 5th slot by doing this

Mutant Rancor

Horned Voritor

Gaping Spider Queen

Horned Voritor

Gaping Spider Queen

Do you think the strong poison from the Horned Voritor will bleed through?

I've a similiar thread below, so I'll try and help, with what knowledge I can. However, seeing as I'm not experienced as some of the long term post-ers here, you might do well to take this as just an opinion, rather than a solution..

It is quite difficult to get a high CL pet, in my opinion, with full kinetic and energy resists, and non vulnerable. I've tried this several times, only to have to introduce vulnerabilities in, simply because, popular DNA for resists and HAM, all seem to introduce vulnerabilities into each other.

Example:
Mutant Rancor(MR) DNA is good for balancing things off like Elect, Cold, Heat, because of its special effectiveness, and it's at 100%. BUT, the kinetic rating for MR DNA is also quite low, at 45. You also get high HAM.
A common practise is to introduce Bark Mite Burrower(BMB) samples, to raise it into its 50s. But, by doing that, you introduce Blast and Cold vulnerabilities into the picture.
If you use 3 BMBs, 2 MRs, you get high Kinetic, but vulnerabilities to Blast and Cold.
If you use 2 BMBs, 3 MRs, you don't get the vulnerabilities, but Kinetic may not be high enough to your liking(45-50, in my experience)

A good compromise would probably as you've done.
MR, BMBQ, BMBQ, Frenzied Graul, Recycled DNA

The BMBQs, and the FG DNA, should, bring the kinetic resists into it's 50s. Once again, no go on the full 60.
And, you also get pretty low resists on Cold, Elec, Blast, because on paper, and if I'm not wrong, the special effectiveness cancels out the vulnerabilities, and you get stuck with something pretty low. This is even if you're recycled DNA holds Cold Elect Blast as Special Effectiveness. When you experiment and put in light armor, it may even drop to zero.

So, now to the crunch. With your new clone, lets call it the 2nd generation, you could possibly SAMPLE it again, and bring it into the 3rd generation. Put it in slots 4/5, to make sure both specials are in. Some have said that if you place your specials solely in Slot 5, the specials will carry over, but in my limited experience, this is a pretty long shot. Even with VHQ DNA (Which you might not get, 1 or 2 samples seem to kill of a high CL pet). Slots 4/5 are filled with your specials, and they carry 40-50 Kin/Energy resists, no vulnerabilities (Hopefully, although I think blast might one..), and you can try putting MR, BMBQ, and FG into slots 1,2,3. Hoping that each vulnerability will cancel out with each special resistance.

End state, you get a Kinetic 50ish, Energy 50ish, 20ish resistance pet, with High HAM, and your two specials. 60 Kinetic/Energy with no vulns? Pretty **edit** hard. And probably not worth the whole lot of time and frustration.

Imagine, you have to have at least 20 samples of MR, BMBQ, FGs EACH, factoring in that it's 3 gens, critical failures, sampling your 1st and 2nd generation clone which might give you only one sample each. And that's really really painful. But I guess, it can be done with patience and about a week of dedicated travelling/sampling.

Once again, quite limited in my experience, so this is my 2 cents. Might be someone out there who can give a better and less long-drawn solution. Sorry if this seems like a bit of a splash of cold water.

G'luck with the pet!

As far as I know, the best sure shot way to get your specials is,

Special Attack 2 : Pyschology Slot (Slot 4)
Special Attack 1: Aggresion Slot (Slot 5)

Mostly, my pets seem to have Special 1 from Slot 5's (special 1), and Special 2 from Slot 4's (special 2), occasionally (special 1).

Not a splash of cold water at all. all help/experience is appreciated! While highly fun and interesting, it does become pretty frustrating/confusing sometimes. Trouble is, even if you create a pet like this, people arent willing to pay more than 160k for it dispite the effort. will probably end up selling something like that for 140+k on farstar. Think i'll try and make one and probably keep it for myself

Ok, on paper as a very rough guage and using the average stats of dna on swgcreatures.com

If you aren't already, I suggest you use Grelgen's BE Java Page to help.

I suspect you already are, since you've got decimal places in there, but nonetheless, it'll help others reading this post even if.

http://home.satx.rr.com/grelgenswg/clone.html

On paper, it looks alright. We all know things go wrong when you do your final combines and experimentation. Just hope you've got plenty of patience to do the MRs...

Also, from experience, you probably will tip over the CL 70 mark if your HAM stats are over 710 or close. You might want to stop experimenting when you hit 700 in a certain attribute.

The resists look fine, none are low enough to hit 0, when Light armor is factored in.

Good luck! And hopefully the light armour sticks with all your clones. The GSPs don't have light armour, and I made another post with regards to that. But all in all, on paper, it looks all rather well. Don't be suprised if you try to sell it and your client goes.."Kinetic is too low..can you make it 60?"...Grrr..

Hope this pans out for you, yell if it does.

No edit button, so I'll just have to make a new post.

If your specials stick to the 2nd Generation clone, or the "Specials Generation Clone", you might want to consider sticking it into slot 4, instead of the BMBQ, just to make sure Disease carries through. Fair enough, you'll lose Kinetic somemore, but it depends whether you're more concerned with the specials, or the Kinetic Rating. For most, I think Strong Poison is a good enough factor without the Disease. Anything from a Stunning to Blind to Dizzy would be fine with it. Just in my opinion.

Yeah im using that site heheh! will definately make a mental note about not experimenting when the stats hit 700. SO far have collected 17 VHQ samples ofMR DNA. took quite a long time. for some reason, the rancors ive been sampling all ahve above 700 stats and their ham shows up as 14k+ when i check them before sampling. Ive got a feeling that this could tip the CL scales later.

So far its been 2 days on dath, will stick ard till i fill up my pack and inventory with MR and GSQ samples before heading to endor and dan

For the final combine i factored the recycled dna into slot 4 and 5 just to be safe that the specials stick. Im sure i'll get a "cant you make a better pet speech" or "see my pet here? its got 60% kinetic, what cant yours have the same" only that his has many vulnerabilities, cant hit to save its lifeand 9k ham. Im sure im even gonna get the "but cant you make the kinetic 80%?"

Bleah, if they dont like it, i'll use it myself hehehe

I think can even raise the defenses by replacing the Gaping Spider Queen with Prowling Gurreck DNA

see as follows

Final Combine

Aci 32.5

AR1, Disease Poison

2nd Gen
Mutant Rancor (VHQ)
Prowling Gurreck (VHQ)
BMBQ (VHQ)
BMBQ (VHQ) = Strong Disease (SP2)
Horned Voritor (VHQ) = Strong Poison (SP1)

Har 643
For 588
Dex 654
End 516
Int 681
Cle 543
Dep 744
Cou 514

AR1, Disease Poison

Again all this is theory. Should allow more room for experimentation into the ham, the to hit and aggression. Just to check, to-hitis affected byPsycology or Mental experimentation?

ok6 attempts at this, 2 criticals at the end (yes, i was pissed)

the horned voritor and mutant rancor doesnt give strong poison and disease. sometimesdisease comes through but more often than not, just dizzy. even when putting it like this, MR,MR,MR,HV,HV. i really dont know why this doesnt work when technically it should

because the first part of the experiment was a failure, the final composition could not be tested
