Thread: Questions for BE who have Ranger Skills....
Well, Im thinking about getting Ranger. However, I was only planning on going up the Wayfaring and harvesting lines. I dont care about the trapping or making better traps. How effective is the area tracking for animals?? How effective is the camo kits for each planet?
If I dont get Master Ranger, is it possible for a master ranger to make the camo kit for me to use??
Just curious about it..
Thanks for thehelp!
I am a Master Scout, Master BE, and Master CH. This only leaves room for Novice Ranger and three skill boxes in one discipline. I chose the Tracking discipline since I have heard that camo doesn't work all that well and I couldn't progress far enough to make the camo kits for the planets I really wanted (Dathomir especially).
I find that the Area Tracking works quite well. After getting the third tier box, you can do Animals and People and get both range and distance. The additional creature knowledge gives you the two special attacks of the creatures you examine (no to-hit or damage info though). I find this makes it much easier to find the animals I want to sample and to check out those creatures I am not familiar with.
Same build here as agarel in the other post. Master Scout, MBE, MCH, and wayfaring 3(tracking/creature knowledge). I agree with his post with one caveat: Tracking is buggy since often creatures won't spawn unless a PC has passed through recently. Can't track an unspawned creature... Works great around smuggler's outpost on Endor where there are always CH and BE out looking, but it is practically worthless away from the between track...it is easier to cruise around on your bike and see first hand.
I keep it more for the extra creature knowledge.
