Hi. [puzzled] I consider myself a reasonable woman, but this newest change in BE creature levels has left me confused and lost.
Some of the critters I made for my boyfriend that were CL 10 were invalid. My little CL 10 Jax was invalid. Now, I expected this as they were kind of high in HAM.
So, I settled on going back in and experiementing with DNA, and resampling the critters I made and making new templates out of them, and experimenting on the lowered sample stats to make new critters. I do this often as I practice my skill, gain experience and so on. I make creatures, resample, and remake until I run out of fresh and resampled DNA.
I resampled a CL 17 Kaadu, and CL 18 Bunny (Squall) I made, and threw the samples in. The stats were initially low, but luckily most stats like dexterity and intellect were below 200, Fortitude was under 100, and Hardiness was in the high 80's...my power was around 52. So I figured it might be a CL 11 or 12. I wasn't worried as I wasn't actively trying to make anything. This is what I got on the Final Combine:
Dewback
CL 10
Health 1529
Action 1450
Mind 2006
Kinetic Resist 19
Energy Resist 29
Acid Resist 10
All other's vulnerable
Damage: 55-65
Stunning Strike Special.
My boyfriend loves dewbacks, so since he lost his CL 10 dewback that I made for him, I decided to give him this one. So I tamed it from the radial to see if I could call it. It's reported as invalid as well.
This is where I'm confused. I understand 'older' pets made before this system was in place might get the invalid pet command, but I made this pet under the new system 'along' with the new crafting system, which I assume applies to BE experimentation as well? I know my experiments certianly seem to be alot more subdued in stat raising, which doesn't bother me so much as I feel like the experimentation process is a lot more..controlled, rather than the odd increases or decreases I'd occassionally get under the old system.
I'm just not sure 'what' to do. What's a legal CL 10 pet. This was CL 10 under the new system and it's invalid? The only way I'd have known it was invalid was by trying to call it. Will this be what BE's need to do when they make a CL 10 pet from now on? I'd have felt really bad is I made a similar CL 10 pet, sold it to someone looking for a pet, only to find out they could not call it.
When I adjusted it's levels, it comes out to CL 13, incidentally, which is the same level that Jax I made under the old system came to.
I'm just not sure what to do here. I 'really' love this profession, but I feel so in the dark here.
Any help anyone can give is appreciated.

Your resists are too high. On my nonCH pets I use a combination of Voritor Dasher and Huurton Pup to get 10-14% Kinetic and Blasyt with vulnerable to everything else. Vulnerabilities lower the CL calculation evne though they are meaningless on a pet without armor. Your energy resits is too high. UInfortunately no one actually knows what values are allowed or not for thisnew validity check that snuck its way in to this patch. Heck my 14% kinetic 4k health pets may be invalid as well.

I made level 10 gurreck for myself a few weeks ago using the voritor dasher and hurton pup recipe, and I'm still able to call him today. Stats are 4.3k, 3.1k, 1.9k HAM, 10% kinetic and blast resist, no specials, yes to ranged, and damge, if I remember correctly is 55-65. So I would agree that your resists are too high.

What about these resists?

This pet is fully grown and calls fine.

ok, first, resists make no difference (at least no big one)! I had creatures with same HAM as poster, but much lower resists and they were all invalid today (1300/2100/1500 + a 20%energy resist). So, it seems to be more than just resists.
Second, the player who posted that monstrosity, that IS the definition of invalid non-ch creature. If you can still call that, then the system is REALLY broken.
