Went from 40% resist all, 800 ham, medium armor to...
18% resist all, no armor, 800 ham. Woowoo!

So. I was apparently wrong. Despite having it as a valid non-CH 'pet' for -months-, its existence doesn't show the devs think CL10 should be useful. With this change they easily pave the way for anything to be over 1k ham to be 'invalid'. =/
Blows, it does, IMO. the previous version was severely limited in ability. The current incarnation is laughable.

Same thing happened to non-creature handler animals. A droid engineer may not be able to make a new droid with medium armor but they are supposed to make one with high HAM than 800. Again, that's no different than non-creature handler animals. People still buy non-creature handler animals. Its a huge part of my product line.

I guess I don't see your point here? Should a CL10 anything have medium armor and 40% resists?

bear in mind that the probot is now considered to be "in line" with Cl10 pets. Better take a good look, because they're coming for BE pets next and that'll be the sort of thing you can expect to see, I'm betting.

what? I thought YOU knew how to get the caramilk into the caramilk bar.....

They already have. Thal said there were no new checks for non-creature handler animals but guess what? There sure is a check.

I've already been told of a pet I made that was valid yesterday is invalid today. She gets a message saying give the animal to a creature handler for adjustment.

If the nw droids are supposed to be 'in-line- with non-ch pets then we're heading for another nerf I can still call my 5.3k/3.8k/2.4 HAM cl 10 pet, probably twice the power of the best probots now.

/sends love to the DE

My point was that probots were CL9, and widely held to be 'next to useless' and acceptable CL10 pets due to low health and damage (despite long durability due to the armor+resists). The change to the armor modules, and the wrecking of the probot, shows that they ARE apparently interested in display-only 'combat droids', and that tehy do indeed appear to think anything with double digit resists and over 1k ham is invalid. See the new invalid checks, after our correspondant assures us the patch notes on TC were wrong, and there was no additional validity check.
With this as a 'template' for can-only-be-made 'pets', we're all screwed. Or do you honestly think there's ANY market for 1000 HAM 0% resist pets, beyond a few people who'd like Fluffy around and don't even bother giving them to a CH to train?

That's over 5x the durability of the current probot. Before, it had the equivalent of 5300+ ham (800 actual ham, medium armor, 40% resist all). Now, it's got the equivalent of about 975 ham, depending on your model (mine had 18%, another person reports 14%).

had a duel between a probot and my CL10 cat with 4.3k/3.5k/4.5k HAM today and know what...... the probot won....

Yes out pets have a much larger HAM, but they do **edit** all damage...... they are good to tank and thats it...

The new droids follwo the same rules as BE pets as far as I can tell, the droids have much higher damage and speed and no vulnerabilities, for this they sacrifice HAM, they are 'balanced' with our creations but as undesirable because at the end of the day who here has been asked to make a really high damagin CL 10 pet? Tanks are what sell.
