It kinda depends on what kind of stats you want the final critter to have. If you want armor, you have to use some DNA from an armored critter. If you want Acid resist, you need DNA from a creature that has it (and no DNA from anything with an acid vulnerability).

What I personally recommend is that you read the FAQ. It has some really good information on creature creation, but it can be a bit dry and yes, it made me go cross-eyed reading it too. After you read the faq, go to swgbio-engineer (sorry don't have the link as I am at work) and read through their recipes section on their forum. This will give you the practical examples to go with the numbers that the FAQ provides. Without the examples, the creature creation section of the faq is difficult to understand, and without the faq, all you end up doing is copying some one else's recipes.

Hope this helps

i did read some of the FAQ but doesn't do me any good all its like is y is one creature x is another yxxy=z or somthing like that lol i got kicked out of school so math doesn't help me having some BE to say some examples of decent DNA would do me good just seems like every BE i see when i try to ask them a question they don't answer seems to me they are giving all novice BE's the cold shoulder cause they think they are all in it for cash well im not i have generators to make my cash justi n the BE to create good pets for people

yeah unfortunately, as one might intuitively assume, BE is the most statistics- and number theory-heavy profession in the game for those that wish to truly graspit. This is because, unlike almost every other profession, the devs have refused to give the formulas for all the calculations used in pet cloning, so we're left to try to deduce ourselves what exactly does what, and with so many variables and assumptions you need some higher level math to take a crack at it =)

its a great resource for calculating the final resists on a clone, though the other statsdont apparently work as precisely.

Just remember that vulnerabilities work like a -99% special protection, and any effectiveness scores arereduced to 0 if any of the other DNA has special protection or vulnerable for that damage type....read the crappy "advanced" be guide, it'll explain at least that much properly =)

For the HAM stats, it varies greatly on sample quality and generational degree, but I find without experimenting you'll usually end up with about half the averaged value forall the samples used for hardiness, fortitude, etc...
