Thread: where are the merek harvesters?

before i could sample merek harvs i had no problem finding them (or indeed them finding me) but now that I can sample them to death they've all disappeared off the face of Endor. I must have spent over an hour looking for them and I found no harvesters, only toxic battlelords, blood-stained, deaths head etc etc. so where's the best place to look (roughly) - i.e. NE of smuggler outpost / S of smuggler outpost and what distance away from the outpost should i venture? ...really annoying, got some mutant rancor dna burning a hole in my pocket.

well I'm a BE/ranger so it makes it a lot easier for me...I know they're paired with Merek Assassins in wild lairs, and these tend to be"An earthen mound", though I cant promise they wont spawn from other lair types as well. Try getting in a group and seeing if you can spawn mission lairs for these. I know blood-stained merek lairs are the only type you can spawn missions for solo.

You've just been unlucky. If you are finding lairs with other mereks, there is very frequently a merek harvester or two in that same lair. Anywhere around the smugglers outpost is a good place to look.
There's also a static spawn of them, I'm sure you could find it by doing a search in this forum. But I don't recommend the static spawn unless you are desperate, as trying to get a sample when there are like 20 of them around is no picnic.

I usually find them congregating north-west of the smuggler outpost also... about 2-3k away from the outpost itself

Yeah but i dont value the king merek DNA at all personally.
there is a bunch of merek harvesters around him tho which is the point of going there, its actually surprisingly simple to DNA harvest there, as they dont deathblow(well king does but he rarely actually does it)so if you do agro gettingclose, i allways just run in and let myself incap in the middle of them, then i get up and usually harvest the lot without another incap, or perhaps one more, however there is a long respawn time so i often once harvested them all move away log out and log back in later to harvest them all again.
This is actually my primary source of DNA for 16-45 creatures, as its easy to get enough DNA to work on cloning

head west from the smuggler outpost....... i've noticed that harvesters spawn with cavern creepers and blood-stained mereks

I second that..... basically I just go into the mountains to the WSW of the smuggler outpost and can usually find Harvesters around there somewhere (as well as bark mite burrowers and queens).
