Thread: Template suggestions wanted, please help :)
That template being 2/0/3/4 - gives plenty of experiment, a cat and useable DNA - although really DNA4 ought to be your target. Then your gonna I'd have thought want to get to controling around CL23 pets ( where armour is doable) which is a single line on CH - probably 0/4/0/0. That uses a total of 133 points. That is the absolute minimum really, as I say DNA4 is a good option too for better DNA and probably worth pushing the CH side a little higher.
Personally I think you've gotta look at something like :-
2/0/4/4 BE
0/4/0/4 CH
Master in a combat skill
9 points left.
Should be very effective in PvE. Give you usefull commands to train your pets and a respectable number of pets and being a master of combat gives you some firepower. If you used the 9 points to up the CH then I would have though you could solo rancors probably unbuffed.
Thanks for the info. I think I've figured out a good template, with BE as the main profession. We'll see ![]()
2/1/2/4 Medic
4/0/4/2 Scout
Master BE
0/4/0/4 CH
and that'll leave me enough to gain 6 or 7 Rifleman skills.
I really wanted to squeeze Ranger in there somehow but thats not gonna be possible. It's unfortunate that BE doesn't come with at least some rudimentary pet abilities :/ Ah well.
ranger/be and ch are very plausible, you just won't be able to master all of them
with master be/ch you can have 3 skill boxes (i suggest 0030 for area track) or perhaps give up some ch and get 4030 for increased camo and the area track.... maybe give it up later after you get enough decent samples to make your pets then master ch
of course this leaves only ch as your sole combat profession, but you can camo against anything and just let your pets deal with threats
After going back and forth between professions I'm working on going back to the following template:
Master BE
Master CH
Master Scout
Ranger 0/0/3/0
Medic 0/0/0/4
Allows me to track and maxes maskscent for sampling/staying out of trouble.
I can't kill stuff very fast though (forget about mass harvesting or fighting the tougher MoBs/NPC's) with pets asmy main "weapon", but for finding stuff to tame/sample the template rocks!
The final choice is very much down to what you want to do and your personal style though, as well as what horrors they are going to do with the "rebalance". This template is no use whatsoever in PvP but suits me just fine.
