AFAIK the only people who can call more than 1 pet regardless of type are CH

I find this statement curious. I was under the impression that all of our "dog" skins were aggro and so uncallable by Non-CH players. You should be receiving the "you have no chance to control that pet" every time you try to call the slice hound, regardless of any other pets you may or may not have called. A little off topic I know, but you have piqued my interest.
As far as your question goes... I was under the impression that Non-CH can only call a single pet regardless of the type of pets they are attempting to call. I would be interested to learn that a non-combat droid can be called at the same time as a BE pet. Does anyone have any info on this? I would try myself but have been locked out of my server all morning just so someone can get a haircut 
Nope. I"ve made a number of Slice Hounds as non-ch

The slice hound is a BE CL 10 critter and has been callable by me since got him several months ago.
The friend who has called Droid and Creature at the same time isnt a CH, but he does use dialup. I asked him about pet issues and he related to me a tale I have since confirmed with witnesses.He once managed to call one droid, "store" it, call another, and so on, but the system never put away his first droid... he had 4-5 probots (pre DE revamp with storage modules) followinghim around for hours. Others saw them, they all fired on targets when he used a common command, and he only lost them when he had to travel.Basically, after discussing it with him, I suspect this is aunique bug involving dialup and the client and server falling out of sync somehow.
It might be fun but it's still an exploit and can and probably will result in a responce from support eventually.
If you need an army of droids to kill it, you should probably hunt something else lol.
As an MCH I can call 3 bio-pets,1 droid, and my speeder. I cannot call any combination of droids, that limit is 1.
I am unclear on the Faction Pets as I do not have any now to test further possible combinations. What is the CL of your Droid by chance? Some Combat Droids were too strong in the beginning to be called by certain people. It may very well be that this is the case for you.
