50k for a 25-count crate is very generous....at +17 stats you could probably command twice that.

I would say a little less than Kevie...

Firstly you have to take into consideration your own severs economy and how much people are generally paying for BE clothes.
On Farstar you could probably expect to pay 17k for a +17 Injury and Woundtreatment clothing item, give or take a few K.
Though most tailors will use the tissues in pairs to make +25 clothing - which would sell for around 25k.

So 2 crates of your +17's would make 25 items of clothing with +25 Injury and Wound Treatment

25 * 25k = 625k

if you split the profit approx evenly between BE and tailor thats 312.5k for 2 crates which is approx 150k per crate

Obviously if BE clothes on your server are much more common then the prices will be much lower

Im sorry for not bein a little more specific.....Im talking generally but as an example i asked about clothing enhancers for tailors. On my server(Radiant) i see most bio'd clothing at +25 go for between 40-70k depending on what type. From what u guys have said i think i need to charge more.......maybe around 100k a crate.I have a tenedency to overcharge(hehe) thats kinda why i wanted to get some opinions.Considering the ingreds needed for most and the price a tailor can yield i think thats a fair price.

If +25 clothing is going 40-70k a piece I'd say 200k is a fairer price for your crates

+17 what? tailoring tissues?

if that's the case, i use the avg mod * 500 for each

+17 would be 8.5k each, a crate would be 212.5k a crate..... /shrug
i had someone tell me they only pay like 40k a crate though lol..... crates are MUCH harder to get than singles, so i wouldn't give any discounts

that's why i sell chef supplements..... selling crates and giving discounts i don't feel so bad about since i just really have to worry about getting any good meat

that's true, nancy..... i should have added that i'm on kettemoor

but what i meant about the crates is discounts for crates..... especially things like myoflex or mimetic circuitry....... it's really hard to get that much to run a crate of these things (or maybe because i'm just trying hard enough ).... my point was that i usually discount crates of chef supplements but rarely ever on tailor stuff (unless it's a special order... then i always cut down a lot lol..... i'm really bad about that)

On the discounts for crates, yes for chefs, no for tailors. Tailors dont generally sell clothes in bulk so they dont give discounts for bulk purchases. Whereas chefs do give discounts for crates of food and will be probably expect you to do the same

Hmmm - always wondered why my tissues sold out so fast. By the looks of it I've been selling tissues at a quarter to an eigth of what others charge for them.

But I've still been making a 500% profit on them

BE components I never price based on resource cost - the enhancements we give to products add far more to the value of a product than the value of the resources. so if you're selling at anything less than 50% of the total profit for the finished item then IMO you're selling yourself short, the product YOU make with YOUR skill points its making profit to line SOMEONE ELSE's pockets - is that really fair?

Take a tailoring tissue for example - takes around 80 resources, for decent organics price them at 20cpu inc profit, thats 1600, lets say 2k per tissue.
Now with those kind of resources you're looking at a +18ish item.
Add that to a shirt that might cost the tailor in resources around 500 credits - but they can sell it for 18k, say they'd sell a plain shirt for 1k - your product that you sold to them for 2k has increased the price of the shirt by 17k - making a nice fat extra 15k for the tailor - your skills and experience has just made some tailor 15k

exactly..... the thing with bio-engineer is that we supply other professions with components for them to make money with our products

they buy it from us because they don't want to go through the hellish grind that BE holds...... we should charge a lot because we all worked hard to get here lol
