Hi, ive done searches about DNA Sampling and have gotten some useful info, but as good as it sounds it doesnt seem to work for me.

I am currently 4-4-0-4 in BE.

I just cant get a good grip on the Sampling, I hang around theed nub spawns,

The thing is I only get a successful sample 1-6x off Nuna's is this normal?

Please guys tell me how you grinded through Sampling, or give any other helpful hints, Thanks in advance.

The sampling tree is hell, its something that many of us have hated and had to live through...

At 4/4/0/4 the sampling rate.. even for the newbie creatures is extremely low, but it does get considerably better as you finally get up the tree....

I found that Sampling 1+2 was the hard part... sampling the newbie creatures, then for boxes 3+4 I went to Dantooine and took picket missions, which got me through levels 3+4 a lot quicker than I got through 1+2...

All the advice I can give is stick with it, get plenty of brandy to keep ya going, without needed to stop for rest, and make sure to delete the samples in the inventory, it can be aggravating to find out your last 15 samples have failed because you ran out of space...

I feel one of those 'back in the old days' moments coming on...

You just have to grin and bear it through the first couple of boxes of sampling. Just take a couple of brandies and you should have no problem at all. Back in the old days when I was a novice, there wasn't any vasarian brandy and I had to constantly take the effects of the munon downer while sampling. I used the downtime to get exp for the crafting trees.

Once you get past the second box, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. The third and fourth boxes will seem much easier in comparison since the success rate will go up and you will be able to sample higher level creatures such as on dantooine as has already been mentioned. I spent some of my time sampling on Endor also...the density of creatures is very nice there.

you can head to endor as soon as you get the 2nd box, sample pounching jax's and roba runts =) i think they are around 150-200 xp each but they come large packs

the long-standing strategy is, once you get sampling II, to run to dantooine and get piket plainswalker missions...... they don't db, you get 300+ xp for each sample and you get 9k per successful mission

can't go wrong

If you are going to open up a BE vendor and sell pets, then I would advise clearing out as much of your inventory as possible and get a back pack with nothing in it, then try to fill both with DNA samples. Once that's done then go make some pets with the DNA that you collect. Don't worry if they are good pets or not with good stats. People will buy all different types of pets. If you do that, you should have a vendor full of pets once you hit Master. And the cool thing is you will have pets of all different lvls and attributes.Read some posts of what kind of creatures other poeplehave made and get ideas from them. Basically, just experiment around with the DNA and see what you can do with it. And most importantally, have fun doing it!!

Picket missions are where it's at. I usually milk while sampling, and even if the picket dies from your sampling, you can keep milking it I've been selling this milk quickly on coronet at 6000 credits per 500 to unknowing buyers. WIth the pickets, if you're trying to level a combat profession, or in need of money, usually sample the first three and then fight the rest. If I'm more concerned about sampling XP I'll run away once I get the second set out of the lair, and then come back to three more pickets and a full lair. Have fun!
