Yes they need to be tamed.
They grow at the normal rate of 1/10th per 12 to 24 hours.
They are created as babies but do not say (baby) after their name.

ah so the same as CH's. so let me get this straight. let's suppose I'm a master BE, Master CH. I create this really powerful rancor. I bring it out of the data pad and I have to tame it before I can use it? Would/could it attack me if I fail to tame?? Couldn't you just engineer the animal to be obedient?

BE creations don't need to be tamed do they?
How long do they take to "grow" or are they created as adults instantly?
know these are stupid newbie questions hehe.. sorry. =)

Greetings. I am trying out BE for the first time and I am loving it. I am 2/2/2/2 in BE so far. I went thru all the FAQ you have posted and couldn't find an answer.
So far, the best DNA I have been able to sample is of "Average quality". What are the quality levels about this? Is Average Quality the best DNA (ie the stuff I should be saving for when I reach master)?
I would appreciate any wisdom you could impart on me.

The other levels are Above Average, High, and Very High

LOL, you have been a master too long. When I was first starting out, I got mostly Below Average. I seem to recall one or two Poor Quality way back before the system changed. I don't know if they still exist.

After I reread the question, though, your answer is the best one. It seems that "about this" in the original message meant "above this," not "about this topic," which is the way I read it, so I think your answer provided the desired information.

When you are Master, Above Average should be the "lowest" quality you get - so keeping average samples is a waste of storage
unless you require that quality for specific templates.

As you go up the DNA tree, your samples will get better quality. The lowest I remember getting as a novice was Low Quality (don't remember a Very Low but wouldn't be suprised if I forgot), the highest you can get as a Master is Very High Quality. So no, don't save them. Use them for pets or get rid of them.
