Heya,

Guess I reached these without a 2% bonus.

Pathways are still capping at 19

Tensile just hit 17/17.

Fear Release 18/18

Chef still capping at 59/89/119

I'll update as I test more and get into chef nutrients.

Naritus had one person hit the 17 mark on tensile resistance, before the buff. But that takes some serious resources even with the 2%. Congratz.

I just tested the inspiration buff effect on chef tissues. They do nothing at all. I tested on a Micronutrient Supplement using the following ingredients:

Wood - Aiwowot OQ1000

Flora - Irchtioze OQ966 PE985 FL369

Meat - Opoap OQ797 PE898 FL694

Without the buff, I expect the above resources to be experimentable to 85.32%. With the buff, I expected them to be experimentable to 87.0264% (assuming cap is at the experimentation point, not per stat). The experimentation capped at 85%.

Note that even if the individual stats capped at 1000, I would still have expected the above resources to be experimentable to 86.5559% which did not happen.

The buffs are definitely not working for the MNS, and I suspect the same for the other chef tissues.

To the original poster - Did you run the resources you used through Lantyssa's calculator to be sure that they would not hit the nubmers you are getting without the buff? I know you probably did, but it would be good to get positive confirmation. If you posted the stats of the resources used, that would help as well...

It's possible Alura got a critical assembly (or other tissue weirdness) while using really good resources. We'll have to see if she can repeat it or not.

There is a sticky post on the Dancer forum that specifically mentions that the BE inspiration only affects creature crafting - not chef or tailor tissues. I believe that post was from a tester on TC and not a dev.

I wasn't very happy about the inspiration buffs at 10%, but I thought 2% could add an interesting wrinkle in tissue crafting. I guess I am surprised by how disappointed (and yet relieved) I was that they do not work...

Hmm, I read that sticky just now...Wow, I really hope that isn't the case. Every other crafting prof gets all their experimentable items effected by the buffs, but BE's only get 1/4 of our items effected? Granted, I know there are problems with the roll out of this publish and they're going to "re-publish" it according to one of Tiggs posts. Personally, I dont craft pets and never have (BTW, I always thought the tough part about making pets was making sure the stats didnt go too high and mess up your level and all that). But what about chef and tailor tissues, and all those meds? Good job SOE

Can only hope that this stuff gets sorted out when they republish. Gotta love patch days....

I just re-read the patch notes:

Bio-engineer Inspiration will receive a 15% experience bonus, a 10% bonus to assembly and experimentation, and a 2% bonus to resource quality when crafting genetic type items.

It looks like it is only supposed to affect pet crafting. Ironically, the one area most BEs won't want to get a buff for.

OK. I stand corrected. I just never put this combo of resources together before to make Tensile. Guess I could get 17/17 before and never knew it.

Here is what I used in OQ/PE/FL:

Crustacean: 994/938/905

Bone: 995

Berries: 995/970/997

Milk: 967/991/567

Bad part is I would need to use 3 30k Resource crates to mass produce these. I only have enough stuff to make a few personal crates and thats it. Thus requiring I price them at 700k or more per crate to make a profit...lol.

Ah well.

Given that you could make +17 with those resources, I tweaked my Tailor Tissue Calculator to make the cap +18. Raising it one matches your results, too.

For now I am going assume that is the unreachable cap and that the few datapoints I had before didn't have as good a quality resources..

In the publish notes it says the following:

  • Bio-engineerInspiration will receive a 15% experience bonus, a 10% bonus to assembly and experimentation, and a 2% bonus to resource quality when crafting genetic type items.

  • Now, I might be splitting hairs here, but that says Genetic type items....and the only genetic type items we craft are dna templates inmy way of thinking. NowI really, really hope that is just a over generalization of the items we can craft and not that the crafting buffs will only effect us in pet crafting....

Tailor tissues can act a little strangely at times. (At least back when I was a BE.)

It is possible that the buffs work for tailor tissues but not so well for chef tissues.
