We currently have a very nice wild milk on Dantooine on Flurry (Dasti). I don't have the stats at hand, but I believe it ranks pretty highly with the best milk for the server.

There has been some success on Flurry getting people to milk the pikets on Dantooine for the current Dasti. The going rate is 40cpu and I have about 200k of it so far. I know that the server has well over 1 million units collected, but this is a rare spawn that has been eagerly sought.

I tried (somewhat successfully) to get people to go milking by holding a 'Galactic Milking Championship'. I offered 37cpu for the collected milk over a given day, with the other 3cpu going into the purse for the champion's prize (plus a Galactic Milking Champion's belt).

It was a nice diversion for the handful of people who participated, and I am sure it was the first milking experience some of them have ever had. After noting the relative ease of milking, perhaps the craze will catch on...

It's because milk amounts taken from a creature does not vary with the creature harvesting modifier at all. Everyone will harvest the same amount, but we can't harvest more just because we are a "creature centric" profession.

We have next to no luck with Dev interaction, so the best bet is for some other community to help us.

I'm sure there's a reason for it, but theonly reason I can think of is that milking is "too easy." To strip hide/bone/meat from creatures, they have to be dead first. Presumably the scout killed them before they harvested the stuff. However, I don't think that's quite valid becauseyou don't actually HAVE to be the one to kill it. I group with my droid and harvest stuff off things I haven't laid a finger on.

/shrug, maybe that's not the reason, but I suspect it's a large part of it.

I totally agree with you that milking SHOULD give scouting xp. After all you are having to find milkable animals and you must have mask scent to even try to milk so it isn't like everyone can just go do it. We get scouting xp for simply breezing up to a red dot with mask scent on - surely milking is not easier than that?

I suspect that it is non xp'd because they didn't really think about that at the time it was granted. It is a result of 'creeping ingratitude' that we now want xp formilking. At the time they added milking animals to the game, I believe that milk was only a loot item and very rare. Suddenly it became possible to make many things as never before, and people were very grateful. Now ... along comes someone like me ... who has only known milk in the game as it is now and suddenly i'm not happy that i'm not getting xp for it ...

Oh and I also want a bit of xp for finding eggs ... And I want more fish meat on the bone. And I would also like fishing and milking to be tied to scout skills so that we are better and faster at milking / fishing and get more milk / fish meat at higher levels of scouting. And 300 units per fish please. And higher level fish in more dangerous waters ... and possibility to get eaten during fishing maybe. And maybe even craftable fishing lures tied into the success rates of fish. And more places to USE fish in the game.

And boats.

One thing I do like about the devs is that nobody can say they don't have a sense of humor. I spent all day fishing on naboo once and once ... i actually caught a boot. No joking...

PS. We should be able to milk our pets as well - the milkable ones. We'd have to declare them as male or female when we tame and then if female and old enough ... oh sorrry this is getting too complicated ... But once a day ... pets should be milkable. that would be cool. Quantity dependant on your scout levell and the pet level as well.

Actually, i was just thinking about this - hence the edit. How would you know what TYPE of milk your pet would give. And the answer would be ... the domesticated milk for whatever planet you happen to be on! And then you could use your pets as a sort of survey tool as you moved from planet to planet. OK, that doesn't help with wild milk but it doesn't make sense for a tamed animal to give wild milk anyway.

LOL - please don't say boat - they will replace myoflex with boat building and tell us we should be elated.

You used to get survival scout xp for fishing pre-CU - not sure if you get the new scout xp for fishing now as I am capped on scout.

You used to get xp for searching a lair, if I'm not mistaken, way back in the beginning of the game. I too would like to see scout receive xp for milking and egg gathering.

You can get more milk by milking mission herds - the higher the CL the greater the amount of milk.

My experience with resources is that if you check the entire galaxy, you can almost always find Eggs or Milk of a quality good enough to make good tissues.

When milking, I have not noticed a big variance between wild spawns and mission spawns, and you do get slightly more milk from the higher level creatures.

Both milk and eggs are very time consuming to harvest, and milk is easier than eggs.

To me the problem is the qty of each required in the tissues. 15 of each is fairly high and should be more like 5.

Would anyone with some milking experience please list creatures that when harvested give milk?

try using the advanced search feature in www.swgcreatures.com you can search by planet (or all) for each of the kinds of milk ...
