Thread: am I missing something?
OK, I just got to being a Carbine Specialist, which gives you the Action Shot attack. So I use it, and here's what happens: the combat text registers that it does damage, but the enemy doesn't get hurt at all. They start to bleed, which is what I think is supposed to happen, and they fall over (which means they miss one attack round). But isn't it supposed to actually deal that damage to that enemy? Or is the fact that it knocks them over make it so it doesn't hurt them?
Unfortunately, my road to Carbine specialist is proving to be more than my sanity can take... but if it's anything like Mind Shot and Health Shot, my understanding of those skills is that thatEITHER, ittargets your action support stats (quickness and stamina) somehow, and makes following attacks on the action pool more effective, OR that it is some type of DoT Bleed attack on the Action pool that slowly drains that pool throughout the prodeeding combat rounds.
Can someone more knowledgable than I clarify this special move for us?
I'm assuming it's the same as my Mind Shot with a rifle.
it's like a bleed for that pool and it also keeps it from regenerating and makes it more vulnerable for attack.
Try using the Action shot followed by a leg shot and see if the damage is higher. It should be.
I've been using Actionshot1 forabout two days now, and I have to admit that it's FAR better than I could've imagined. Because of it, I'm able to take down animals worth 2000 weapon xp, and 250 combat experience. Still, seems strange that itsays it'sdoing damage in the chat bar, but doesn't actually register. I can't complain, though, when I'm fighting dinosaurs and giant insects, and not even taking a scratch of damage.
ActionShot1doesn't increase the damage of a legshot attack, but it immobilizes them just long enough for me to get two LegShot2's in. Plus, they bleed from the action pool, quickening the ability to defeat enemies. Basically I can take out just about any mob that has a hand-to-hand attack with ActionShot1 as long as I'm not in range for them to attack me.
If a mob hasa ranged attack, ActionShot1 isn't nearly as effective (since they somehow get to attack like twice in between each of my attacks), and the shot only puts them down for one combat round. Guess I just need a better gun to fight them.
dantoonie wont show up on the galactic map.
from corellia use the travel terminal, and click galactic map tab.
you have to use the pull down menu in the bottom left corner to pick dantoonie.
then you can pick where to go from the dantoonie planetary map.

Nice. Too bad they're fixing Jax, huh? Well, there's always feral banthas out by Mos Taike. (Watch as they patch that one next.)
I was out running missions today and see someone log on whom I regularly do Neutral Missions with. I send him a /t and ask if he wants to do some Rebel missions, specifically Compforce missions because with the two of us we can do them quickly and easily. He says sure and we go and grab two missions. His two missions are closer than mine so he leads out. It just happens on the way to his first one it was close enough to mine that mine bounced behind us and then completed itself (like a lot do since the patch.) We get the credits and the faction from that.
We come up closer to his and he tells me that it's a medic and an AT-ST. I'm like "Wha!?!? An AT-ST??!!" I don't think he's serious and fooling around so don't say a thing. We get closer and sure enough it's a large imperial base with a medic and an AT-ST. There happens to be an NPC rebel seargent major 20m from the Imp base so I go over by him and decide to use him as an asset here. So we're here evaluating the situation and he tells me "ok I'll engage the medic and you engage the AT-ST." Still thinking he's being silly I tell him I only have a launcher pistol, a flamethrower, and a har, that I haven't any of the AP weapons at the moment. He doesn't say anything for a bit, then says "ok ready?" I say "Sure! why not lol! It should only take three Flame singles to take it down, and a few deaths." The medic and at-st happend to be standing nearly on top of each other, so I go up a few meters away and use flame cone. I hit both of them (yay!) and they both aggro on me. I run away from them (toward the rebel NPC's camp) and am about 80m away from the AT-ST when it decides to warp right on top of me. I get incap'd and then the acquaintance starts shooting at it with fan shot. he's doing about 30-50 damage to it and dies in 2 hits.
The rebel NPC distracts the AT-ST (the medic went kaput a bit ago) and neither of us are slain. I get up to the AT-ST again and hit it with flame single. I get incap'd and am slain, follwed shortly thereafter by the other guy. We clone and get back. I go up near the AT-ST and kneel so I shouldn't miss. Other person starts fan shotting again so I flame single again. He gets incap'd again and I get 2 or 3 shots off before I'm incap'd and slain. The AT-ST is now down to where it will take 1 more shot to die so I clone again.
I burst run back and again kneel 6m from the AT-ST. I flame single on it again, it misses me, it hits my health, it hits my action, then it dies. Then I see that I've been awarded 6 faction point standing and in groupchat say "wow all that for 6 fp's." He says "you didn't wait for me?" In the commotion I didn't notice that he went after it alone again and was slain. I apologize to him about it and tell him I didn't notice he had cloned. He then gets to the area and sees the slain AT-ST. In group chat he says "why did you ask to group if you're just going to use solo tactics?" I tell him that against an AT-ST with the choice of the weapons I had and only two people there was only one way to defeat it was by flame single/cone. I inform him that outside of 16m the accuracy of the FT is downhill and I can't use any of the 2 varieties of specials with it, there's not much you can do in this situation with a FT. He then says something to the effect of"I join groups to use group tactics, to learn how to take on bigger things." Then "I have some errands to run maybe I'll se you later." Again I apologize for it, and explain I was in no way prepared for this and was expecting to go against Compforce.
Is there a better way to take down an AT-ST when all you have is a LP, FT, HAR and a Squad Leader/Pistoleer companion?
