just curious...... I have now failed 26 or 26 times on mutants... normally, I'd have at least a few successes...but absolutely none so far.
is anyone aware of any changes? or is my luck really that bad!?

I was having a bad night of it tonight - 10 mutant and 4 bull samples in about 5 hours, regularly getting 15+ fails in a row, and even when I did get a success it usually killed the one I was trying to sample or caused aggro. Just a bad day at the office I think tho.

On average, I get about 1 in 20 successfull samples from mutant rancors. I guess its supposed to be hard to do.

It's quite random.
I've gone 5 samples ina row on one Mutant, all success, three of them VHQ, then the mutant dies.
The next day I go ten samples with no success and many aggros.

I find that certain spawns can be more or less difficult to sample.
A few weeks back I happened upon a spawn of Mutant Rancor that never aggroed me once. They'd occasionally break my maskscent as I approached, but I'd stop moving, wait 30 seconds and remask and then continue approaching.
I sampled them over and over again (usually failing) and then eventually getting one or two samples before they'd die from it, then I'd move on to the next one.
After they were dead, I thought it was pretty peculiar, and decided to "bounce" the spawn. I waypointed it, got on my swoop, went 300m away then returned and they respawned. I then sampled them all to death, and repeated that about three times. I ended up with over 30 Mutant Rancor DNA samples that day.
Other times I'll find a spawn who I can't even approach without breaking maskscent and them all aggroing me. Then they'll use an area attack, hit each other and once I was gone they'd turn on their own. Very frustrating.
