I'm not sure how many people have had a chance to login yet, but I did just before work (well, truth be told it made me late for work, lol). Here is some of the dirt:

a) my 9k HAM non-ch pet got "re-speced" to a sub-2k HAM pet which has combat level 1.

b) the tailor tissues I had lying around (both in "raw" crate for and in modified "rfp/cloth" forms)do seem to have gotten converted to their new equivalents just fine, but clothing made from the prior tissues have *not* gotten converted. So I'm still the proud owner of a spec-ops duster that has bonuses to "injury & would treatment". Well, at least that is going to generate a lot of new sales I suppose.

c) pet stims made pre-cu still have no stats on them.

d) I tried crafting some new pet stims using "pre-nerf" components, and so-so dath insect meat. My guestimate is that pre-cu they would have turned out around 1050 power or so, and post-su they are closer to 700 power. My guess is that number will beat least 100 pointslower when you use "post-cu" made components (you guys did stock up on components... didn't you? hehe)

e) The wound packs I had lying around got translated to bacta-toss enhancers. Hmm, a *big* increase in value there. I'm guessing it's going to be a tough sell to sell newly made bacta-toss enhancers for a good long while, especially at the 150cpu prices people have been "tossing" out there (pun intended).

f) The arbitrary choice of the dev to make the (reportedly) non-functional surveying tissue, in addition to the new healing effeciency tissue both rfp was an unfortunate one. Now we have a situation where you cannot put surveying bonus in pretty much all female clothing and most men's "casual" clothing. And you cannot put healing effeciency clothing into popular "healing" outfits like grand healers robe, doctor's dress, devorative vest, or gunman's duster (i.e. the medical lab coat). I suppose that for a few select pieces of clothing it is a benefit that the "buff" tissue is cloth and the "heal" tissue is rfp, but for the most part I think this was a huge mistake.

g) I got a cheap thrill out of realizing that my alt's combat level after a huge re-spec is... 42

ahhh man sounds good / bad. to be honest arthur these devs can not communicate for *&#$. I just can't get over how we pay their paycheck and the lack of communication they give. I know they have work to get done, but not even letting you know about the tissue changes is worthless dev communication to me. Anyways thanks for the update!

This is excellent news, I just hope that alot of bio-engineers who insisted on making these exploit clones will have alot of customers coming back and demanding a free replacement. Either way, I'm glad these are out of circulation I hope the CL calculations for cloning now haveno loopholes to exploit.

Yeah, this sucks. Glad I only had one crate left on my vendor. It also annoys me that petstim As and Bs can only longer accept advanced components to boost their stats. The more advanced ones also demand the advanced ones so they are going to be much much much harder to make and alot more expensive. So much for them being the consumable items designed to give continual revenue for bio-engineers.

The 40s are quite easy to hit, alot of the starting planets cap at around the 40-50 mark though aside from a few rarer enemies.

Frankly I'm shocked that the CU went live at all, this is a prime example of SoE not giving a damn for the quality of their product nor the effect their actions have on the community that they claim to value. They need to take a leaf out of NCSoft's book. Now theres a company I trust completely, infact City of Heroes has been due for their next major publish since the start of the month however it has been delayed because its simply not balanced well enough and has a few bugs. They've gone over their deadline for the sake of not dropping an unfinished nuke on the live community and to ensure that they don't scare away customers with rash actions. I hoped that this new dev team would have the balls to stand up to the SoE fatcats in the offices and tell them how it is. Guess my hope was misplaced. But I'll tell you this, I'm never subscribing to another MMO that has SoE running it because they are a totallycrap company with no concept of customer services. I only stay with SWG because I have so much invested into it but if the screw ups caused by this 'Upgrade' aren't resolved within the next 2 months then I'm gone and gone for good. I've given them a second chance and I'm not generous enough to give a third. They'd better get it right in the next few weeks.

/shrug it's news, whether it's excellent or terrible remains to be seen. I guess the real question right now is: given the current state of the game, can a non-ch pet be made that is desirable, particularly given the stats that droids have, and the new creature mounts that are non-craftable coming out in the expansion, and the lack of special attacks? If it is possible though, I have no doubts that you guys will pull it off

Tal, I wasn't boasting about high character level (actually 42 is very low, 80 is the new "combat standard" that everyone will have soon if they don't already). But the number 42 has particular significance given my forum name. Go see the new movie opening tomorrow and perhaps that will shed some light on it Now all I've gotta do is figure out how to get a 42 above my name, lol.

Well ... I'm really really pleased to see our blue glowy PJ'd friend appear today HELLO ARTHUR!!!

Final summary on the combat upgrade from me is this:

No specials on the DNA I sampled. The new tissues looked fun so I made some and looked around for our tailor but she wasn't on (wise girl) so I went out to play hunter to get new meat. I'm level 31. I went to dantooine. Got 2 missions. The one for the level 29 bols went well. The one for the level 10 lesser plain bols was a waste of time but at least I got some milk. Then I went to service my harvesters on Dant. After the second incap/slain i was fed up.

YES other games have combat levels. But they make it fair to people by ZONING the mobs. You don't expect to see a range of creatures from level 10 to level 80 in the same are in WoW for example. SWG never HAD to do that b/c we could all get buffed and armored up and survive. Now? It's NOT FUN. We haven't got a fair chance and I don't like it. Oh yes ... why not just gather resources on tatooine ONLY. There's a thought. (hmmmph).

We found ONE GOOD use for BE tho. My husband is a newly made jedi. He was getting frustrated getting jedi xp b/c of his duel TK/Commando skills meant that he didn't get any xp at all when he killed something less than about level 60. He had been grinding on level 20 wayland cupas last week and found them tough. There was no WAY he was going to kill a level 60. Anyway, I suggested he respec to master BE b/c he'd lower his combat level w/o losing his elite boxes and he did so. Then he wasn't able to kill anything b/c jedi is borked. But at least he'd get xp if he did it

He is thinking of cancellinghis accounts and I can't say but I blame him and I'm feeling that maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing at this point. If he goes, I go ... What is the point of nice new tissues with lots of nice new mods on tailor tissues if we all die 10 steps out of the house. Except the double elites who don't need tailor buffs anyway.

Discouraged and depressed,

Dorelli

From what my guildies have told me the new "pet check" is as inconsistant as all the past attempts. Some uber pets get respec'd and some don't. /shrug

We have a Jedi in our guild that is a wopping level 52 now. He runs scared from dwarf nuna.

Pre-CU pet stims do not work at all.?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

My 34 Mountain Squill went from 34 down to 26 with half the ham…uncallable

My Quenker went from 23 up to 27 with half the ham…callable

My Boar Wolf went from 25 up to 66 …uncallable

Mantigru Night Stalker went from 28 to 39 with half the ham and …uncallable

None of my bio’d pets are callable without adjustment

They ranged from

25*11k,8k,9k,54Kin,340+,BS/Intim

To a

39,11k,8k,8k,LA,60Kin,450+,SS/SP,Range

So, I made a few 150+ CL pets using first Sharnaff (they are now 22 by the way)

Then Mottled wrix, then Corellian Butterfly Defenders (18 now)

Some had med. Armor, some light, but

I also made a 23

6k,3k,1500,37kin,300+,DS

And a

9

2k,1k,700,17kin,260+

Go figure

“course I got incap’d by a violent Khrabu (9) and I’m 51 LOL

Yes it is possible. Well depending on your definition of desireable but I have been crafting some CL 9 and 10's with 3000 Health and damage of a little over 300. I dont know if this is good or not as it is my first day as CH lol but seems ok to me
