I tried on a friends pets that was tamed and my pet that was tamed and I was unable to do so . Can anyone do this? Also I used to be a CH but I am not anymore if that helps at all so I have a few pets in my bag just sitting. I thought I would sample them instead of destroying them or selling them

i'm supposing you could sample their clones before they're tamed, but not after. never tested this before though.

Good lord, I hope they never bring that in. Imagine the griefing that'd cause :-/

Only wild animals and untamed BE pets (think of them as deeds, not pets) can be sampled. Wild animals give much more xp if that's what you are needing. But...

Ha! I think that would be so funny! I don't see this ever being a allowed since sampling is supposed to be so bad that if an animal is killed by it their resources can't be harvested (why is that btw?)so it would be pretty sick if you could do that to your own pet, but ha! Fear my leet sampling pvp skillz you MCHs!

Back when mounts were all the rage, people would trade me their kaadu, in deed form, to train. The option to sample dna was there and these were made by other BEs

It's not a pet until it's tamed and in your datapad. You can sample from deeds, but not from pets.

We actually could sample from pets for a short time, but there was no warning when you did it. What ended up happening was people accidentally sampling from thier favorite pets and killing them. We asked to have it removed and it was.
