Hello BEs,

I'm a non CH, and am looking to purchase a BE tanking type pet. I've been researching the BE trees to see what types of creatures can be made, and I've been reading through your threads now for a while, trying to figure out what creature combinations are possible. I see now that there are some pet builds out there that are taboo that will be nerfed soon.

I'm looking for something with respectable HAM and resists, with the skin of an angler. Do I read correctly that the skin of the animal determines in part as to whether it can be called or not (anglers are aggro I believe)?

Can anyone spend some time and fill me in on what's possible? If/when I talk to a BE, I'd like to be as informed as possible.

I was going to post something very similar to this, soI'll extend the main post a bit:

Except that I AM a rising BE (1-1-1-1) and made my first real pet (Novice BE skills only) and ended up with a 1500-1800 HAM CL8 Swirl Pong. This was better than I figured I could do and I was quite pleased. I've since collected some nicer DNA, and will be making a few more experimental pets when I hit experimentation II.

My question is, with the questions surrounding Uber pets and such, what type of stats SHOULD I be trying to hit for a non-CH pet?

Is a Cl10 with 5000 HAM too much? Is 2000HAM too little? I don't think any creature tamed CL10 pets exceed 2000 HAM, but I could be wrong. And what would be a good charge for a decent (non-Uber) non-CH pet?

Final question, people are already asking for a pet with the Specials removed. How would I go about that?? Thanks for tips!

Yes, there are some skins that non-CHs cannot call. To my knowledge, a list of which of our skins can and cannot be called has not be done yet. I would bet that a creature that aggros in the wild would be less likely to be usable to a non-CH, but I'm not completely convinced that is a valid litmus test. Some skins also come with minimum cls, so it may not be possible to create a cl 10 Angler.

The skin makes little to no difference as to the abilities of the final creature. It seems to make all the difference in terms of run speed, which is no small consideration, but not in terms of fighting abilities or HAM.
