Thread: nTh Generation DNA
I have been rapidly absorbing the details of this forum. Its great fun (how I wish DE had similar complexities).
Im a 1-1-2-1 BE and am just starting to perform my own structured creature builds and tests.
Im trying to get my head around CL control (which appears to be the holy grail at the moment) and the pros and cons of 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation DNA
I was hoping for help, suggestiond and thoughts in two areas.
Where I go for the Scary DNA in 1,2 and 5 and then Crap DNA in 3, 4 and come out with a critter close to cl10 but not quite there I have read several times that 2nd generation dna does the trick most of the time. Now is that snd generation DNA used in all slots or just the 3,4 slot ? Or indeed just the 4 slot as the 3 slot seems to have abysmal values !
Secondly what other uses and advantages can 2nd gen dna have ?
Thanks, Wargfang
And the target I was shooting for most recently is for a guildmate working on CH who was interested in a CL20 one. Looks like a trip to Endor for Boar Wolf DNA for me this weekend.
I dont have any firm results. but I do know for a fact that 2nd generation DNA is weaker than 1st. it depeds on what you experimented on in the template with the first gen DNA. i'm not a master just 2-0-3-4 so far. this is what I have observed. lets just use mountain Dewbacks for an example. cl 18. high hams. and a decent attack.. not a bad critter. when I sample it and get an average sample.. hardiness is somewhere between, 300-350 for me. I use that in a template and depending on what else I use in the template it can go down to as much 90. then I can experiment it back up.. if I do. but dont get the hardiness back up to 300. it comes out as DNA with hardiness very close to what I set it to in the template. .....ok a bit confusing but its very complex and still getting a firm hold of it myself.
what I do to make decent lvl 10 critters is:
get decent DNA with hams, around 4-5k and 1 sample with an intelligence rating of about 150 or lower. Using the high ham DNA in 1, 2 slots I get good action and health. use the low intelligence DNA and lower mind. dont make it too low or the pet will die often for lack of mind. now I use random DNA in psycology and usually a low fierceness and power DNA in agressivness. my pets dont have great attacks. sometime mediu poison if I use syck DNA for 3,4,5 and gomes out with decently high hams.. usually around 2500-3000 for health and action and 1500 for mind. it has medium poison , makes for a great tank.. its attack power comes from teh poison, not raw damage. ( if the poison hits anyways). ok enough of my ranting hehe. but this is how I do it.
Thanks I followed this patter and made a 3 piklet 2 lesser bols into a Kaadu CL9 with 4k, 2k, 1.5k ham with a 130 attack 14% resists to most and a dizzy/something attack....
So would this sell and for how much do you think ?
