Does any have a recipe or idea what to sample in order to make CL33-37 pets with light armor. I'm new to BIO-ENG and I seem to ahve problems with this. I know it may be easy just haven't sampled right creature or fiured out the equation yet. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. BTW I did do search and read post after post but found nothign useful. THanks in advance

I like Arachne Warriors/Webmasters for Lvl 35-36 pets, usually have strong poison, ranged, light armor and decent resists.

Hi merek battlelords are good as well as the Arachne warriors and webmasters, dont experiment over 35% in any field and you should be ok, also when making the mobs stick to ones with a difficulty lvl of around 24 - 29. Pretty much any dna samples with armour will do, just watch the percentage during the experimentation phase, I am begining to think the average of all fields has an effect on the outcome of the pets cl when combined with a creature of a particular difficulty lvl, but I could be wrong there.

Bark mite burrowers can give good pets in this range with armour and good resisits.

All I can say is Endor Endor Endor. I swear almost every animal on that planet has armor. Gurrecks are good, not aggro, but hard to find. Delerious mereks, toxic merek battlelords, merek harvesters. Bark Mite Burrowers are nice. And the aforementioned arachne beasts. Oh, roba boars are good too, not aggro.

If you want to make level 31-35 creatures quickly then the arachne warrior is your friend. Easy to find (just north of smuggler outpost on Endor) and no DB.

Just experiment health and psych fully. Then add two experiment points to the others and you got a quick ar1 10K health 30 kenetic pet with ranged, stunning strike, and strong pioson. The level varies between 31-36.

I use a level 31 blurrg 10400 Health 30 kenetic. This guy takes a beating. The damage output is low so you get all the xp. Great for grinding a ranged profession.

I can crank out five or six of these in a couple of hours orso (time depends on how many incaps and how many times someone trains some nasty creature over me while I sample)

Can't wait for the incap reducing food.

The simple answer is that you can in fact use just about *any* armored dna in the, say CL 35-60 range to make armored pets at CL 35ish. What you need in the combine is to have fortitude over 500, and that gives you light armor.

The real trick is how much experimentation to do on the combo (don't always assume that you need to use up all your experimentation points every time), and that strictly depends on which specific animal dna you use.

What I'd recommend doing is this: go and sample some lightly armored creatures. Ones that have characteristics that you like (resists, special attacks, ranged attacks, high damage, or whatever). www.swgcreatures.com is your friend for that info. If you go to Endor, Dath, or Dantooine, you'll be able to find lots of such critters with very little looking.

Then try a combine like this:

physical: lightly armored dna sample (fortitude 520+)

prowess: lightly armored dna sample (fortitude 520+)

mental: a non-armored dna sample from a creature < CL 35

psychological: a non-armored dna sample from a creature < CL 35

aggression: lightly armored dna sample with special attacks that you like (fortitude 520+)

Then experiment on physique, one point at a time, until either you can't do anymore, or you've pushed the fortitude over 500 and have light armor. Then do whatever other experimentation you feel is appropriate for the pet you are making.

When you are done experimenting on the combine, write down what the final numbers on the template are, then make the creature, and see how those numbers map to what CL. That way the next time you do that combine, or a similar combine, you have something to refer to as far as how high the stats can be for what CL. After you've done that a few times, you'll be a whiz at it.

From my experience, the "big" factors governing CL on armored pets are:

damage

kinetic resists

energy resists

HAM (but to a lesser extent)

If your creature has a vulnerability to either kinetic or energy, you'll be able to push the damage and HAM pretty high. Otherwise you are going to have to walk a tightrope as far as HAM and damage to keep the CL to 35ish.
