Thread: Invalid pets?

I've been hearing a lot lately different people citing a pet check coming in the patch Thursday, that will make some pets invalid. I've been searching to find some correspondent or Dev mention of this, but haven't had any luck. Can someone help me with a link or a clue, please?

Is it just non-ch pets that will be made invalid, and what would make them invalid? I've done a whole lot of work lately to make great non-ch pets without cheating or knowingly exploiting bugs, but it's pretty disheartening to think all my work will be made useless. I'd like to know so i'm not wasting my time and angering my customers with pets that will not work soon.

I've made some great pets to for CH, like trios (23/23/24, and lower) with armor, great kinetic, and good HAM. Are these in danger too? (Assuming no exploiting, prepatch dna etc.)

LOL! sorry I shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help myself. You actually searched for a post from a dev? I can't remember the last time a dev actually posted here. Good belly laugh on that one I must say.

Basically we have no clue. There was a patch that made uber non-ch animals invalid but it made the majority of non-ch animals invalid so they removed it. We're told there is going to be a fix but what it entails we're left to figure that out for ourselves I imagine.

I looked here, in Talthazaar's stickies, in recent dev tracker comments, in test center, and haven't seen anything yet. Where are the posts you refer to that say there is the fix coming in?

Fix is this Thursday..

They recently made a copy of Bria as a Test Center. I popped over there and tried to call my pets.

I had one pet I had made with Nocouse Kham DNA as test subject. Right now in live it is considered a level 8 pet. When I tried to call it it told me it was invalid and I had 2 options. I could adjust the stats to the appropriate level or I could keep the stats and make the level what is should be. I chose to change the CL and see what would happen.

That level 8 pet was reset to a level 28 pet. I am at work so from memory the level 8 pet was 40% resists across the board 10K ham and 340 damage. plus the Nocous sp[ecials.

I also had a level 15 and 24 pet I had made the level 24 with light armor but did not use the noucous DNA, both of those pets called no problem.

So from the pets that I had and could call only the Nocous skewed DNA pets were effected. (That is a limited sample, not meant to imply some normal pets will not be effected)

Alright, if it's just the fix for the pets using that bugged naucous dna, I should be ok, since I haven't had any of that. I've just been doing a lot of work breeding out undesirable traits in favor of others, and ended up with the best pets I've seen. I feel like I'm on hold until the patch to find out if the work I've done in good faith of the game mechanicsis to be wasted.

Typical of the pets I've made in the last few days:

CL 10, 8k/3k/1k HAM, 40-50 kinetic resists, vulnerable everything else, extremely low damage, to-hit, and attack speed.

(I even madetwo level 5 gurrecks with similar stats as above, but only 4k/1k/1k HAM)

I'm ready to start selling them, but not if I'm going to have to apologize on Thursday.

anything on this we are all talking out our arse. We no clue cause there is zero in patch notes but it is in and working. No clue if have to call pets to find out. No clue if can still make them but won't know if can be called. No clue on anything since it was like a sentance in passing and people are seeing there pets chage from the Bria/test thing.

In general the requirements for a level 10 pet seems to be low resists. No Aggro DNA and the ham cannot exceed 9k total. Many pets that were above this became Invalid in the Hotfix. I doubt the devs would want to exceed that for the next patch which would mean an auto level system. There is no sure answer until the Patch goes through and the deeds are tamed.

Ok, you could very well be right, and it's my fear that you are. But what is your statement based on? Why wouldn't a min/maxed pet like that work?
