I'm working my way to Master Bio-Engineer and could use some advice on how to grind the Engineering Techniques skill tree....

I just did what the FAQ said at the time - gritted my teeth and got on with it. Didn't take long at all.

Did about a box a day so I didn't get too bored with grinding out BSNs once I could do them. I only used 4 tools, rarther than some of the uber 8-tool macros I've seen floating about.

Had the advantage of good company in the room to chat to while I clicked on resources every 15 seconds or so.

I just checked the stuff needed for Constrictor Cloth, which everyone says is the best to grind for MBE, but it calls for Creature Food and Creature Resources. i don't think I've ever heard of those things before. Where do you find them ? Does it all have to be the exact same kind of Creature Food and Resources or, like wind survey tools where you just need metal but it doesn't matter what kind.

I did check through the FAQ's but couldn't find anything on the Creature Resources and Food in there.

Shou should have a look at the resource tree:

Creature food is any kind of meat, fish, milk, eggs, molusks and crustean.

Creature resource is about anything that can be harvested from a creature, so including the list above you an use all hides and bones there too.

May the Force be with you all!

lmao, I guess if I had actually thought about the names I would have figured it out, but thanks for helping out someone who still rides the short bus every now and then.

Hi all,

I've been a BE for a while now. ATM i'm 3141 and can't seem to make pets higher then lvl 24. I was wondering why that is. And does the Engineering Techniques skills effect how high you can get on lvl or is that just less risk on a critical failure??

I mostly use naff dna for my pets. It there a way to use better dna ? better meat? ect ? to go up a bit in pet lvl? or is lvl 24 the best i can make at 3141 skill??

Greetings from KorrepZ Herr

The experimentation points you get as you go up Engineering tree make a big difference. Your failure percentage will drop also. Since you're obviously interested in making critters (3/x/4/x) I'd say work up that tree as soon as possible.

You will be limited in making good pets with the amount of Exp points you get, but other than that, your pretty much in the same boat as anyone else.

To get higher level pets, you need to sample higher level critters. I can't remmber the max lvl u can sample at DNA IV, but at Master its max 75, Id expect the max level for DNA IV to be around cl 60.

In general, when making higherlevel templates, use higher level petsin the first 2 slots, and the specials you want in the last two slots.

Creature skin has no effect on the level, except it will always have at least the min skin level. (see BE FAQ for skin levels and more info on creature making)

Resources used to make the creature have no effect on cl.

Basically until you get more Exp points theres not much you can do. I reckonwith yourExp points, the max level you could get would be around cl40.

I agree with what Lloyd said but I would like to add the following. Remember, high level pets are not always desirable. There are several different categories:

Non-ch:CL10

Novice Ch: CL12

Triplets: CL23

Twins:CL35

High Level: CL70

Generally, these are the rough categories. Of course, some CHs may choose to mix and match. For instance, it is thereotically possible to get a CL12 pet with light armour and 60% kinetic, this could be combined with a CL58 pet which deals out heavy damage and has the specials the CH wants. However, when stocking a vendor it is best to keep the CL as close to those listed above and if possible lower. Although, if you find yourself lowering the CL too much for a wrong kind of pet then you may want to add extra resistances or increase the final damage.

Better get a vendor now that the pets get higher aswell. Anyway you guys answered my question... cheers !!
