Hi guys. Well I just became a novice BE 2 days ago. Already have my first 3 boxes (sampling 1, tissues 1, and Techniques 1). I'm having a big problem sampling. I want to sample while I hunt out meat on Dantooine and I read that at sampling one I can sample up to clvl 23 so I was going after quenkers, but I can never get close to them withought being agro'd. I am using mask scent and crawling up to them. Anything else I'm missing? Thanks.
Somewhere along the line is a balance between sampling success and XP per sample that gives you the most rapid XP possible. Sampling seems to be different for different people for reasons I don't think we entirely understand. While scent-enhanced clothing and Jawa beer both help maintaining scent, it may be that quenkers aren't the best things to for you to sample at the moment.
Perhaps you would be more efficient with huurtons. They may give a little lessXP per sample, but you may be able to collect a lot more samples in an hour. You almost have to do your own experimenting when it comes to sampling to find what is right for you. But don't think of the experimentation as a waste. You'll be experimenting for the rest of your BE career. That's the major attraction for many of us.
Personally, I did most of my sampling on Dathomir (although Pikets did work well when I was on Dantooine), first vernes, then brackasets, then surefoot brackasets.

Gurks on Lok. They're not agressive so you don't have to use mask scent. They give decent xp (300+). Not as many mountains to deal with. You can get missions for them paying 8k and make a little profit sampling.
You might want to look at having masck scent in a shirt and melee defense in pants or the other way around. Get a little bit of both worlds.
