Thread: very confused about BEs(my new thing to learn about)

I am very confused about BEs. Please answer my questions about them.


Do they add stats to clothes, or do they create the clothing all together?


If they just add stats to existing clothes, are sockets removed from clothes when they do so?


Can BEs deliberately put certain stats on clothes, or is it random?


What is the max ranged defense that you can put on clothes?


Are stats on clothes that BE make like Powerups in crafting?(you experiment and sometimes get that stats you want, sometimes you don't?)?


Can offensive stats be put on Clothes by BEs?

BE's dont have anything to do with clothes, they make the tissues needed for the tailor to make those clothes with all the nice enhancements on them, the components we use in making the tissues are what gives the stats their values and like most things better materials = better results.



What is the max ranged defense that you can put on clothes?
zero with BE tissues, you would need to loot or buy clothing attachments for that


Can offensive stats be put on Clothes by BEs?

tissues can be made that offer a boost to warcry and intimidate and another adds to melee defence and defence against stun, thats about it.

Think of the additive BEs provide like a liner. The tailor can make a perfectly good article of clothing but by adding the "liner" he adds warmth and some stats. Here's a link to the section of our FAQ that talks about what can be done and the types of clothes than it can be done for.

unbeleivable how many times in game this is asked... i would just look at the instruction manual if i wanted answers like some people want to know about be.

the instruction manual is pish, tells you nothing about the advanced profs and the very basics about the basic ones, if people want to ask here they should feel free.

by instruction manual I think he means the FAQ and other assorted sticky resources, which are in fact thoroughly comprehensive and answer most questions that are, oddly enough, frequently asked.

Clothes require subcomponents like most elite crafting professions. For instance, Synthetic Cloth. When tailors craft runs of synthetic cloth, there is an option for an optional enhancement to the food. This enhancement is made by BEs and sold to the tailors. BEs do NOT make clothing.

sorry wasnt specific... like stickys and faqs and stuff. i know its all in there, when i started thats all i got referred to (and it was very helpful).

Zadokk, your slipping. What happened to the "read the FAQ" macro?

As an aside bio clothes are covered very well in the Tailor FAQ. They even have a list that shows what clothes can take what bonuses.

Oddly enough I don't have a 'read the FAQ' macro. I must devise one and work on it.

Maybe we need a Customer FAQ. I can see how it might be hard for a random player to untangle the answers he needs from the pet-creation/tissue creation guides.


Is someone up to writing one?

for questions of clothing, that really is the domain of tailors. They make em, they sell em, they market em, they maintain all kinds of good info in their FAQ. I don't see a need to do more then point confused customers their way. That said, I am planning on tackling some re-working and updating of the FAQ and the vendor listings, so any suggestions you guys have, I'd be happy to hear.
