Thread: How is this template for new BE?

I wanted to go MBE, which includes 4040 scout and 0004 medic (the extra 4 in scout for mask obviously). Given that I wanted Vendors, I am merchant 3404. What is a good template with this in mind? I was thinking TKA 1000 because that is all the sp's I have left. Is this an unsuccessful template for this prof? Should I drop Merchant more? What do you guys recommend for a template from your experience? I am leaving the Shipwright profession and wanted to pick this up. Any feedback would be helpful, thanks!


What is the best combat prof to back up BE, if i were to pick one up? Riflemen, TK, Fencer?



EDIT: I see a post below this as well that was just posted as I was writing this apparently. But anyhow, if yall wanna respond thats cool. Otherwise I guess I can gather from the bottom post .

(ok ok ok I took out the "read the other post section" cause they eventually did)

TKA 1000 won't buy you much as you won't be able to get rid of any states such as disease, which can be a major headache in smapling. You might be better off with TK 0100 to get the knockdown ability. You could knock things down and run from them

I wouldn't consider the KD from 0100 TKA that critical, the Posture Down from any of the lunges will do to give a bit of breathing room, and has a better range so can be used effectively WHILE running...

WELL it seems that combat is not really going to be an option in my template, so what else would be a good place to spend 20-26 pts? CH?

You'd be a walking advertisement for your pets and could leave multiple ones sitting around as ads as well. I have one that I park at the closest shuttle whose name is the distance and direction to my shop and I have another called "BuyOneLikeMe" I sometimes leave at starports. Then there's the whole riding around thing to attract attention and finally offering your customers another service, training their pets.

i wouldnt be able to master ch probably, what boxes would be the most important? (given 20-32 skillpoints at most)

In order of important, I'd say:

Creature Management 4 (two pets at once and the group and mount commands)
Creature Empathy (Trick 1)
Creature Training 2 (Stay & Guard commands)
Creature Empathy 2 (Trick 2)
