I have been trying to smaple both the Mutant and the Enraged and Enraged Bull Rancors and so far everytime I have failed? Is there a trick or can we not sample them?

mutants are cl75, the limit to your sampling skill, at master that is. if you are not a master BE, you will prolly not get a sample from them.

enraged bulls are 80?

bulls are 70? I know they are less than 75

i cant remember enraged but i know they are greater than 75

MBE max cl sample is 75

Tip on Mutant Rancors - Go to Mutant Rancor Cave. Take out a pet with poison. Hit Mutant Rancor with poison and get him to follow you and your pet out of the cave and lose him. He will not return to the cave but to his starting point outside and above the cave. Now maskscent then get on your speeder bike get close to the Mutant and get off your bike - sampledna (get back on bike as soon as you start the sample) follow him while on the bike if he aggros your already tolose him- i have my pet on guard as well. Rinse and repeat as needed. As a MBE I get about 1 out of every 5-7 Samples as a success. I wear MOD maskscent clothes as well. Hope this helps some.

Has anyone tried sampling Nightsister or Singing Mountain Clan rancors? Nightsister rancors might be good to sample for their specials.I think I remeber reading that they KD and dizzy.

A colleuge of mine says he has sampled higher lvl Mobs (more than CL 75).

He has no reason to lie about it - and he is not even Master.

Head around 2000m west from the Dath outpost. You'll find a region around 5000m square that spawns almost nothing but rancor of all varieties. It's alot easier to sample there than the mutant rancor cave because you can have your speeder handy to escape when things turn sour.

That area is pretty nice for sampling Tal-N.. the other thing i've found is that you can typically outrun all that stuff on foot if you make use of the hills. Rancors have pretty poor terrain negotiation skills. This might save you a speeder bike or two.

You have to have your stats migrated to allow you to wear composite (orhigh kinetic ubese)while sampling. I'm a human, so its a bit easier on me. My stats are 400/400/400, 400/400/400, 800/1100/1100 if I recall correctly. I can just barely wear my full composite with that set up (I get buffs most times I go out to make it easier). Tatooine Sunburns give me the action regen I need for sampling and my focus/willpower arehigh enough to not worry too much about(if mind is your problem Muon Gold works, just is more of a pain). I rarely die using this method.

Just don't expect it to work on Surefoot Bracks LOL. That was hilarious when i found out why they were called Surefoots as they outran me on slopes least they didn't DB me.

you can sample both Nightsisterand Singing Mountain Clan rancors. i think one had a unknown attack that would not stick for me.The other one had Forcestrike that would not stick either but you can sample them yes.
