Why are we the only profession that does not know what attributes on our materials (DNA) affects with 99% certainty the attributes of our creations in cloneing? - Question needing Answer

Rhetoricaly(sp) Questions:

Do armorsmiths need to try evert single type of mineral to make the best layers?

Do Chefs need to guess at which types of flora goes well with Meatlump Pie?

Do weaponsmiths need to try every single type of metal to find which makes the best blasters?

3 words, to our dev.

GET IT FIXED!

I think the guess work involved makes this profession the most fun.

I would hate to have road map to guide me through making good pets. I have made 1000's of pets and now I think I have a pretty good understanding of how it all works/relates now and due to this lovely experience I think I can make some very good pets, some even equal to what master BE's can make even tho I am not quite a MBE yet. I would much perfer the BE profession to stay this way. At least this why all the holo-grinder MBE's will not be able to make pets better than a hard working BE who has done the hard yards and learn/experimented with the clone system.

I say leave it the way it is.

I would prefer a few less cirtical failures tho, 3hrs worth of DNA sampleing, 4 deaths and more disease and poison than any person should have to endure only to get naught but a critical failure is somewhat annoying.

I'd be happy with just the formula for calculating CL before hitting combine on the creature itself.

I don't want a list of stats/resists/specials from our Dev. What I do want is a list of what the 10 attributes of DNA affect when used and some concrete formula to calculate CL. Is that really too much to ask? Is it?

Cannot help with the CL, but for the rest here you go:

Hardiness= HEALTH HAM

Fortitude= Armor. the higher the value, the higher the armor. over 500 it gives light armor

Dexterity= ACTION HAM

Endurance= Unknown. ALL critters have it same at 500 so it must be something all critters have same, could it be linked to vitality? dunno

Intellect= MIND HAM

Cleverness= to hit bonus. the higher the clev, the higher the bonus.

Dependability= maybe linked to ability to execute and learn orders. ALL critters have it either 750, 1000 or 900+ (VERY rare).

Courage= Attack Speed. 500 is 2.0. ALL Critters have this at 500 by default and most of the time Courage will not go over 500 even while experimenting.

Fierceness: Fercocity. I do not rember if 500 was 10 or something but this determine the final ferocity

Power: Damage.

I can give you also some example value:

an HAM characteristic (hardiness, Dexterity or Intellect)of 100+ gives more or less 1600 of ham (it depends on success of final combine, not on the actual value that can varies between 100 and something.. maybe 110)

150-------> 2300-2400

190-------->2900-3000

200-------->3200

250------->4300

360------->6500

400------->7100

For power it is different:

1-------->30-40 damage

30-------> 35-45

130------>120-130

150------>130-140

170------>140-150

197----->160-170

300----->250-260

390------>320-330

I hope this helps you out.

Yes.. we are the most complex Crafter profession and all oru creation are hand made.. and making what the client wants can take more than one try. I love it

Alexander's list is accurate on most of the stuff (and the conjecture part is properly noted on where it is conjecture and not fact ).

We're slowly breaking the formulae between me, anarrion, grelgen, fleck, arthur-bria, and others. My feeling is that the formulae are so complex that they don't fit the template for the schematics LOL thats why they aren't listed because they'd have to create a new screen for it.

I still want to see documentation though to see how close we are to the truth.
