I think i found a correlation between dependability and ferocity. When i was sampleing all of those spineflaps last night, i noticed that the guys with ferocity 7 had dependability 1000, 4 had 700 and 0 had 500 and less. Will take a little experimenting to get it all straight.

I'll have to peek at the crazed durni again... they were yielding Dependabilities in the 1000+ range the other day.

of all the kaadu clones made with the various spineflap dna, none of them had any ferocity. The depend stat on all the templates ranged all the way up to 900s, so this theory is a bust

Rancor DNA, even Mutant, is only around 500.

Hehe a good question in its own right LOL

We can't see the ferocity until it is tamed, just like aggressiveness.

I"d throw all kinds of conjecture out there, but I can't prove anything

it's ferocity, man. It tells you how ferocious the animal is.

actually, I think the reason our animals run around all the time when engaged with the enemy is due to the difference in ferocity between the 2 combatants. Either that, or its the skin's AI.

Thats one of my theories hehehe. Another is that the ferocity effects at what % of H or A or M that a creature starts to try to hightail it. Or or or or or

I think Ferocity is only used/useful for CH's.

A quote from SWGCH at http://pub60.ezboard.com/fcreaturehandlersofswgfrm7.showMessage?topicID=27.topic:

"This line give you pluses to your Taming Vicious creatures skills starting with tame 2. If a creature has ferocity (you can see the ferocity when you /examine a creature) you need tame 2 or higher. Tame two gives you 10 levels BUT I could not tame a plains tusk cat at Tame 2, I needed Tame 3 and they are ferocity 9."
