Well lets see. A new component was introduced in the game. What else is new? That research data must come from somewhere and I don't think they added the slot in the game without providing the item that goes in it.

So my guess is that the resource can be found in that new cave. It also fits the scenery I think.

Any word on whether or not this is a "shifting" resource. Guess what I'm asking is if they will all have the same serial number (at least for a given period in time). If not, factory production of the heavy duty food bonus thingies will be impossible. Ok, the Secret Research Data is only optional, but without it the supplement would only be second string, right? Guess we'll know when someone finds one (or rather, when someone finds the SECOND one)...

I think I read it a drop like what goes into armors to boost.

The new cave didn't actually make it into this publish. Just because it is in our recipes, doesn't mean it is in the game. If anyone can borrow a krayt tissue, it would be interesting to see if it is an option. Not that anyone would use something that expensive in a consumable...

That makes about as much sense as only being able to find milk in junk piles out in the middle of nowhere (anyone check the expiration date on that stuff?), or by looting super high-level NPCs. Hmmm... you may be on to something here.

I think it could go either way at this point... either a quest item or a loot drop, or maybe it's a loot drop off a special quest NPC? Maybe a randomly spawning "Secret Reseach Base" with containers that can be looted for the data? It's all speculation at this point.

Here's a crazy idea.

Maybe they can tell us what it is and how to find it? I know the devs seem to think that unending frustration is a reasonable substitute for fun, but hey I can dream can't I?
