Was thinking about picking up BE, and saw that there is no combat level. Anyone know why this is, armor cert but no CL.

More than likely because BEs would get CL for crafting boxes otherwise, which would make AS / WS / SW and a lot of others pretty unhappy.

I was thinkin the same thing about the CL for BE; but not only do the requirements for BE have a combat level associated with them making BE essentially a mixture of a combat and crafting class...but also no other crafting proffession is forced into combat situations in order to utilize not only one but TWO of their branches in their profession. DNA sampling and hence creature creation is mademuch more difficultnow unless you can find a few ppl that are willing to follow you around for a while so that they can fight off any aggro on u.

Thats why BE got armor certificates - not a full combat prof, but risking combat in case sampling fails.
Of course, the value of about 50% damage reduction due to armor when a critter his for 6000+ due to the damage modifier granted by level difference can be disputed on.

Quick question as a follow up with this CL level issue...wat is the combined CL level when say i use the template MBE and MCH? If it is relatively high then the CL level might not be too much of a problem...though the CL level of creatures that Creature Handlers needs to be increased to lvl 80 (that's another problem to be dealt with lol).

Im not really sure, but my guess would be somewhere between lvl 54 (single elite combat mastery, as far as I know CHs get CL) and lvl 60 (thats what I was as Master Rifles / Doc 2200 / BE 0004 with all needed prereqs).

mBioE/mCH (with a tier 2 marksman skill) is CL57.
mBioE is CL17.
mCH is (if I remember correctly) CL54.
mCH should absolutely not be increased to CL80. CL80 is a 'max character template' level, and a single elite mastery should never equate to CL80. conversely, 121 skill points should offer more field-efficacy than a CL of 17: BioE is a field profession, requiring intimate contact with unfriendly targets, and one of five professions needed for a GCW base takedown.

I think Galbatorix meant to increase the creature level that can be controlled by an MCH from 70 to 80, not to increase the CL of the CH to 80.

That is exactly wat i meant lol...the creature level that a MCH should be able to control should be lvl 80 or else they are not much of a viable profession in soloing pve and not at all in pvp. With this lvl system being implemented, a lvl 70 is near a quick kill.

again... what SINGLE elite profession can handle CL80 content? if a single elite profession is CL54, then a single elite should be engaging CL54 content.
I'd like to see CH's using CL80 pets... but I can't see any reasonable justification for it...
