I know you guys and gals have your hands full with petstims, pets themselves, and food additives, but I was wondering how the collective here would feel about having BE's have the exclusive ability to buff pets. Right now, we Creature Handlers are kind of limited here in that Doctors can buff Health and Action, but our pet's Mind attributes remain a hole in their defenses. There was some question that popped up about Doctor's supposedly no longer being able to buff pets (which is not true, they still can), but it seemed to me, that with Bio-Engineers being the veterinarians of the SWG universe, would a pet buff belong more logically in your ballpark? Just a thought.

We can do that indirectly through food additives right? Aren't there foods made especially for pets?

Honestly, I don't know. There's been so little BE/Chef interaction on Kettemoor except for PvP food, its hard to tell.

If I'm not mistaken, the chef creature foods are pretty basic all around buffs. Having someone else buff them might cut into their business, so that would be something to consider.

Just a little note. I used this macro all the time to heal my pets mind.
/tellpet follow; /tellpet trick2; /pause 1; /tellpet attack
Target the creature you're fighting and this will work wonders, shouldn't ever have problems with the mind pool.

I like the idea very much. However, there are pet foods for this already (see www.swgcraft.com for a complete run down of each food and spice and what it does - link on the lefthand toolbar).

"Honestly, I don't know. There's been so little BE/Chef interaction on Kettemoor except for PvP food, its hard to tell. "
Ror,
Kett BE here. I hear you--I've been MBE for a while now and I get the sense that there is much more BE/chef interaction in other galaxies. Many of the chefs on Kett focus (nearly) exclusively on PvP food. In fact, many of them don't know what some of the other foods do (I found it odd explaining why I wanted Jawa Beer....). They do have a lot of foods to manage, so keeping a well-stocked pantry is probably tough.
At any rate, I like the concept. The way the devs designed it, it shouldn't be necessary (we supply additives to the chefs, the chefs create creature food, CHs have plenty of access to said foods). The design intention and the practical reality are different (again). I do know that some of the better chefs (Akane is one--there are several others) are willing to fill special orders if you can supply the materials.
I think there should be a CH (and perhaps BE) modifier to using pet foods, stims, etc. It stands to reason that CHs and BEs would know how to maximize the effect of anything used on a pet.
(And, as a shameless plug, I just produced a small run of 33-use, 976 power PetStim Cs if you need any)

I think theres a Chef food ..Felbar thats gives around a 1200 mind buff on petsfor 32 minutes..least thats all I've been able to get them up to with my up and coming Chef, Blap Biscuits bugg pet health, and Pastebread buff pets Action, not sure if theresa higher level food that does..
Makes more sence for a BE to be able to do it though, I'd love it if my Be could buff pets for CH's
