Sampleing DNA does not require line of sight Checks.

Harvesting DNA should require, in addition to distance checks, Line of sight Checks so that if line of sight is broken it should toggle the same switch as the distance check

basically if a player is unable to initiate combat then they are out side of the LOS of which should not allowed to sample dna.

under certain conditions involeing placement and oreintation of a house and a lair it is possible to cause a animal to clip into the private red wall of building.

That means that this only works on planets that you could place a house on.

These conditions are met while sampleing dna from the creature, and if it was not for SoE makeing it, so that mobs ran away from you when you tried to sample them it would not happen.

this is similar to the exploit that Healers would use to heal team members though walls while inside buildings.

possible fixes also includeing Turning the aggro rate Down since it relys on the combat system resetting itself.

Exploit+Stuck+Playability=Exatucality the quickest keyword for a responce from a non human person.

While it's true this can be done - exactly how often have you found the circumstances available to do it?

This would be real low on my priority list of fixes, IF you can find an open structure and IF the mob happens to be within 15m reach - yeah, it works. Bought the only time I ever used it though was to clear the front of my door to leave if there was spawn I couldn't handle on my doorstep. Be careful what you wish for - line of site can be a real bear when the mob is wandering thru uneven terrain.

OMG please do not bug this, LOS is sooooo broke its sad.

I can't count the number of times I've been standing on level ground, 20 meters from a RANCOR of all things, while my pet is tanking the rancor, when I try to fire my pistol I get, "You cannot see your target" message.

Don't even consider making LOS necessary for sampling until LOS is actually fixed.

umm this cant be exploited since you cant place a structure within 20m (or something) of a lair. This would only be an issue if the lair spawns close to the house, which is near impossible to force.

This method is 100% reproduceble you might need get hit or incappactiated maybe once and does not rely on existing structures.

existing structures just lower the cost have having to drop a house and then redeed it once your done.. i could try this tonight on lok and see if i can use it to trap a kimo in a house.

Personally, I have never had much of a problem getting any dna that I need. Using the mutant rancor express back to the dath cloning station is actually kindof convenient once my backpack is full of DNA. It might be a problem if we could sample things over CL75, but since there appears to be a hard cap, sampling just doesn't require all that much trouble.

after the first sample is takeng the mob is already in side the building.

once the mob is inside the buildign it is attackable again.

That is it is attackable in side a private buildign.

Who needs a private building to level in the security and privacy of there own home away from the probe driods and bounty hunters.

The same jedi who would need to use their lightsaber in order to gain exp? the same jedi who would get a TEF by using said lightsaber? the same TEF that would eject them from the private structure?

or am i missing something?
