Don't have it off hand. But there is a Nightsister (POI map) who will give the location as a quest to clean it out.

Try this map on SWG Warcry

http://swg.warcry.com/scripts/images/view_image.phtml?id=8515&site=13

good luck though, it's been camped every time I've ever been there. I usuallyfind all my Mutant's within1-2k ofthe Sarlacc.

Are you kidding??? I bet a good majority of the MBE's here will say they were out sampling (or trying to sample) MR's shortly after getting their Master title. Regardless of being established or not. After hearing all the talk about these critters and the monster pets you can make with their DNA, who wouldn't be chomping at the bit to stick these things!

Actually I've been MBE for a long time now, and I've never gone after MRs =) Then again, I specialize in NCH pets so I really dont have much need for them per se lol. Now MHs, thats another story =D

Just a small question about these big monsters. I was zooming around Dathomir the other day when I found a large group of Mutant Rancor. 8 of them all milling around, pawing at each other. So, I took my time and snuck over. I managed to get 3 samples before one of them decided I looked like lunch. then all of them decided I looked like lunch. They chased me around, but I got a wp of the spawn area so I could come back, then jumped on my waiting swoop and ran like hell!

On my way back, I sighted another group of 6 this time. I snuck in and got 2 samples before the Rancor tried to get me. Again, I ran. My question is do these always spawn in such large groups? I am a Pistoleer as combat professions go and, well, Pistols kinda suck against these guys, even if you are buffed out. I was buffed, but if the bleeds they were throwing out affected my mind or if I was attacked by more than one I had to run.

The only reason why I ask is that every time I was attacked, it was by a different MR then the one I was sampling. The guy would break my mask scent and howl like a banshee and the others would all come lumbering along to eat me. I was figuring that maybe if they spawn alone or in smaller groups that maybe I'd have more success...

I think the smallest group I ever saw was 4 or 5. They usually are in large groups.

You know, I did something wrong today. I posted this question, for which I thank Kevm for his reply, without reading the board. It seems that, even though numbers weren't mentioned, there is a nice, informative thread about those nasty MR's for a guy who just wanted to know if we copuld sample them. I have since read that post and now know that MR's are a pain in the butt no matter how you slice em. It also seems as though it's not in my best interest to sample them unless I have orders for level 70 creatures so I should hjust lay off them until I establish myself. I guess I just got a little excited. sorry for being such a noob.

This kinda frustrates me cause I have been out hunting for Mutant Rancors several times, spending what amounts to hours on Dath and I have NEVER seen a darned single one!! I would LOVE to grab some of their DNA were I able to. Do they spawn in some secret area on Dath??

Try the area around the Dath Sarlacc. It's a POI. That is the only area where they'll consistently spawn in groups. Last night, there were 2 spawns on top of each other. 10 mutants. And man, it was damn near impossible to approach them. Took 2 hours to finally get into reach of 1 rancor since they don't walk around. Once I got in, it ate me. Once I got back, they didn't aggro me and I managed 3 samples before falling asleep. Make sure to grab ranger tracking. I foudn that group using area track and it was a relief I did because I was going a different direction.
