Thread: BE Pet special abilities...do they work?

I've heard people mention this, and it certainly bothers me:

Basically, pets tamed in the wild can use their special abilities no problem, but what I'm hearing is that BE pets, despite having the special abilities--won't actually use them in combat even when you tell them to.

Of course, maybe it just seems that way because there is no ranged attack gnorrt animation, for instance, but I'm curious if anyone can confirm (or hopefully debunk) this rumor.

Also: For NonCH, we can give their pets special attacks, the thing is...do they use them on their own, randomly? Otherwise a NonCH won't get any advantage out of the special and ranged attacks.

There appears to presently be a bug with clones having any special moves once tamed. I know for a fact they don't appear on the examine window but I dunno if they can actually be used despite that. It's a very high priority bug I'd like to see fixed asap and it had BETTER retrofix existing pets.

All my wild pets have the same issue. Range does not work and Special 1 works sporadicaly, Special 2 not yet.

My pets do not use specials when commanded to. Has it been announced as a bug, or could it have something to do with creature lvl? Like do they have to grow to a certain level to be instructed to use specials? The only reason I ask is because I made a <CL20 critter and when taming and training it I only had the command to train special 1, although the clone had in fact two specials. It was weird.
