#1. Where art thouSpinning Humdinger?

Try to take special note of animals which only have one special move, this can be very handy when you want to create custom pairings for specials. In some cases you will already find that the Unknown attack you see can be overwritten almost as if it's a 'wildcard' special attack meaning that you can end up with a critter that has no specials but has a ranged attack. This can be helpful later on.

#2. Vulnerability = roughly minus 30%

One thing I've noticed is that when you take one dna sample with a resistand merge it with another one that has a vulnerability to that same damage type then you'll see a drop of around 30% of actual resistance. This is how you can literally substract resistances bit by bit. Please note that this is only something I have noticed, i haven't actively tested it under controlled conditions.

#3. And where are you going?

One very odd thing is that critters are now wandering much much much further from their lairs since the patch. This can be very handy when sampling as you'll often find a lone animal so if it aggro's you wont end up with a whole hoard of pissed off critters gnawing at your shins.

#4. HAM sandwich

Certain species and certain induviduals within each species now have HAMs which aren't uniform. Some species have higher mind while others have higher health. Also within certain species you'll come across some exceptional critters which have abnormally high HAM for their species. Since your clones CL is a good 50% from the HAM then you need to ensure that you pay attention to what species you take samples from to properly control these stats.

#5. There is no shamein being acopycat

The fact is that some wild animals have some very nice stats even without being spliced with others, the Blurrg Sand Crawler for example is an exceptional beast which is also fairly rare so any CH would probably love to have one in their collection. 5 samples of v high quality and some good pairings ensure that you get a very good clone of that critter, just because you can splice genes doesn't mean nature isn't capable of some truely remarkable animals that don't need altering.

Adding a ranged attack usually also comes with lots of vulnerabilities.

Adding strong poison can add ranged attack, especially if you are trying to avoid ranged attack.
