Point blank area attack is highly effective when used on lairs.

Well, I recently picked up my 2nd account *cheers*, and started a char, going to go master carbine/rifle/pistol, and, im REALLY finding it hard grinding on the spawn mobs around eisley. Does anyone have any advice on a good spot to grind where I can get more than 300 xp per kill =P, and quenkers take just a tad too long at this level...... >.<

my advice to all my friends has always been to go behind theed cantina for the firstmarksman box, then do lesser plains bol for the second and third box.. as for the forth, on, it's really a measure of your own skills and strength..
the biggest problem with low level range isn't the damage, but rather the accuracy.. especially with rifles and 2-hand swords.. so you have to ask youself when you face a lair, "can I stand up against them for a long time while I keep missing?"
normal quenker is a safe reply from everyone not only because their HAM is quite low, but also because they don't deathblow (unless you get incapped 3 times in 10 minutes)

Squill cave and sennex cave on Tatooine are nice for the melee profs, not sure if it would be good with marksman. I know how you're feeling btw.... I just dropped my crafting profs for melee and started from scratch. Kinda fun, actually.

There are the thug spawn mobs you can hit in about every city. If you loot the corpse off
these spawns and are by the spawn point, youll notice that another on spawns up. Depending
on the mob type, (jabbas give about 300XP), you can rack it in. I mastered marksman just for
the heck of it in about 3-4 hours this way. I was in the little row town just south of the main of
Bestine, where those thugs spawn, but the spawn type changes daily, so todays jabbas thug
is tomorrows moisture thief, etc.

If you spam point blank area1 on the lair you never miss...

well, I assume that your first account is pretty well managed and that you have a nice chunk of changein the bank and other items you've acquired so far or at least some friends that can front you what you need. If so, what you want to do to make the grind very easy isto do the following things.
1)get some very good kineticarmor
2) get some vasarian brandy or canape (brandy last longer and is cheaper in the long run, canape is better for emergencies)
3) get some travel biscuits(you may need them later)
4) see if you can find a pre-nerf republic blaster (RB)to make pistol line easy (not necessary but does make things a lot easier)
5) get some accuracy food (I forget the name of it, but it can increase accuracy up to 40%, very useful for rifles line)
6) get doc buffs
7) get entertainer buffs
8) grind up to at least 1110 or 2220 (ranged support line comes slow but will get faster later, don't worry about it or it's specials)
9) go to dantooine once you have the certification for the laser rifle and you have either a RB or ascout blaster.
10) take quenker missions listed around 5k payout.
11) OPTIONAL: get in a solo group, it gives you a xp bonus but unequip your weapons before you pick a mission.
Now run those missions until you master. It shouldn't take you more than a buff session if your efficient and don't waste time or whatever. just get down to business and it will go fast.
Get novice medic and some stim B's too. novice brawler is good also for intimidate, warcry, taunt and berserk for obvious reasons. Plus with novice medic, you can buy healing wound packs off the bazaar or a medic/doc and heal your own wounds while you watch an entertainer to heal your bf. This cuts down on healing time. Heck if you want, take novice scout too so you can harvest creature resources to make some camps and drop them down anytime you need to heal your wounds. Plus you may end up with some good quality resources that you may be able to sell.
For these reason's, I always get novice medic, scout, brawler and marksman whenever I start a new character. I sometimes get novice entertaiener too because you can heal your own bf and mind by dancing in a camp that you drop down. THis all saves a lot of time from having to travel back to the city when your not finished with your missions yet. You can drop everything you don't want later.
The best thing about doing the quenker missions is that with decent armor and buffs, you can just stand there and either use a HAM specific special to kill them one by one or use pointblank area to hit them all at once but either way, they only hit youfor about 120 damage every 2 - 4 seconds. your armor will mitigate most of that and your buffs will regen the rest quickly. So you may not even need to heal. with these missions, if done right, you should not have more than 2 quenkers at the waypoint and if your have composite armor instead of ubese (cause composite has higher resist), your HAM shouldn't drop lower than half if it drops at much at all. Then you will always have stims to heal and you with the entertainer buffs and brandy (maybe even ahrisa if you got it already), your healing will cost no HAM.
keep the travel biscuits handy in case a Dark Jedi or other high level mobs arggo you and you need to kite or get away.
this all takes a bit of preparation if your totally new to the game, but since you already have another account (and I'm assuming the toons are both on the same server) then you should already have some kind of backing for your new character. Even if your new character needs to borrow your established characters weapons, armor and items, you should do that....it only makes the grind a lot easier and faster and you never have to spend 3 hours fighting corellian butterflys, durni's, worts..etc and only get 300 xp when you'll be getting a minimum 3k xp....but I always do at least the first 2 boxes on a starter planet first in order to get better weapons and half decent specials before moving on to dantooine. After that, it's smooth sailing and fast xp.
just remember that quenkers make take a bit of time to kill, but one kill gives you about 3k xp.....that means you only need to kill 5 quenkers to get the 3rd level boxes and 23 for the 4th level boxes......but at the 3rd level boxes you get headshot 2 which combined with /aim and some accuracy food using a laser rifle while kneelingwill take down a normal quenker with 3 - 4 shots, maybe less.
For pistols, you'll get bodyshot2 which will focus only on the health bar for easier kills, but I like to use rollshot a lot myself because it's very accurate, plus it looks cool.Plus if you do get your hands on a pre-nerf RB,that means you'll havea bit over 200max damage with a base shot doing about 300, then add the damage modifier of the special you useand you should get near 450. Then on top of that, you will get a AP bonus if theenergy resist of the target is not listed under vulnerable (I forgetwhere its listedfor quenkers though)....but that's an additional 25% bonus to damage.
For carbines, once you get to carbines 3, you'll have the laser carbine with medium AP and high damage and Leg Shot 2. Use that the same way you use headshot2 with rifles and 70k xp for the 4th box will fly by.
Oh and how could I forget, with the new speed stims out these days, you can get an easy +5 speed boost to rifles, pistols, carbs for 10 minutes.....there's the accuracy ones too which I beleive also stack with the accuracy foods. You can find them easy on the bazaar anywhere from 100 credits to 6k.......with the new vendor search, there are plenty to find....I found hundreds of them for sale myself, but I don't need them as I'm already speed capped.
So the resources are there, you just have to gather them and put them to good use and nothing is impossible in this game. That's part of the reason we are getting a combat revamp too....the game is just too darn easy these days.
There's many other tips I could go into detail about but what I've said so far should be sufficient.....hope this helps you out.

I have unlocked fs skills for enhanced reflexes, combat prowess etc. A couple of questions
1). I have to train in every skill to become a jedi? Is there a magic number that I need to hit...or all skills?
2). The only way to train is by converting combat xp of various types to force sensative xp of various types? There are no special missions to obtain force sensative xp?
Thanks...played for a while but an fs noob!

You need 6 full branches to unlock jedi.
You can exchange fs combat and reflexes with combat XP, and weapon XP. The others XP are for fs crafting, and fs senses. No particular missions to get it.
You have all the explanations in this forum already ![]()

Earlier today I saw a thread about someone complaining that jedi where grinding on kasshyyk, making MAD XP, cause BH dont go there as often.
I think one person mentioned that alot of people are doing it afk too.
basically just killing wookies.
I am kinda tired of grinding Bols, and pikets, and have not actually explored kasshyyk yet. Could someone be so kind as to fill me in on some of the details of this? I'd love to find a better way then killin bols....
