Thread: A message from the BE designer
Have to agree here. We very much need a communication link with the Devs re-established. The questions are pileing up. Theres still a number of questions conserning the latest patch, questions about the still missing resources, mount issues and of course some word on the state and ETA on the clone changes
SOE seems to have placed a lot of stock on the Corrospondent issue, they placed a great degree of importance on it.. If they want this to remain a valid source of communication between payers and developers they need to maintain the system.. and in effect get us a new corospondent
I asked our friendly surrogate correspondet Traigus to sticky this. Then we won't have to be archaeologists just to dig up the last time a Dev talked to us.
But yes. The correspondent program is obviously a way to make the players feel like they are being heard, without all the inconvenience of actually listening to them. If SOE put any value in the feedback from the players, then we'd have a correspondent, no?
Well TH seems to be keeping up his end of the arrangement and he did say he'd be posting a full outline of the correspondant plan on wednesday... however having the plan is different to executing it. Bio-engineers have been left in the dark of a full month now, hell ever even got more communication before there even was a correspondant.
The problem as i see it is that the devs spend far too much time debating even the most simple of things. I mean come on, pick someone to repesent us for the moment and get the info channel open. It's not rocket science.. just flip a coin, spin a bottle or whatever.
We really need a response on this issue. I keep on hearing from interviews that BE will be in high demand soon and BE changes are set to go in "soon" but what does soon mean? Is it on test center and if not when are they do out because we really need our ability to change the CL of pets and especially mounts!
J. Allen Brack:
"We've got a lot planed for the future. Player cities and mounts are currently on Testcenter, with vehicles coming out shortly after that. We are watching the numbers for Jedi and expect to see our first one any day now. We've made changes to both the Combat Medics and Bio-engineers, which should be coming out shortly. We are putting a plan together to add combat droids to the Droid Engineer profession."

Come on now you can't ignore us forever.
That's not the challenge I want to make. I don't think it will be hard for them to find a way to win.
Am I dumb or was this thread posted in September?
If I am not dumb and this was posted in September then what is the holdup. /cry.
Why am I reading this and getting my hopes up only to see the date that it was posted on and then realizing that there is no hope for BEs. This is sad.
I would ask "WHEN"but who would I be asking? This is so old that it doesn't even matter anymore.
Ok, seriously. You were working on the update in september and now it is november, whats the hold up. New patch came out, still no no clones, whats up? I feel like the developers created a profession and forgot that they did it. If i asked a dev. what does a bio-engineer do in the game he would probably reply: Bio-engineers? We have those? um, i don't know? (And yes i do acknowledge that Droid Engineers get even less attention). Anyway, i think more progress could be expected from a professional company with a muli-million dollar(100 milk) budget.
Speaking of milk and how we don't want to change ingredients to some of the best tissue in the game. Well here is a novel idea as opposed to just looting milk 1 unit at a time once every ten thousand hermits i kill. How do we get milk in the real world? Oh, we milk an animal thats right. So why can't we do it in the game, is the developement staff to stupid to figure that one out. My proposal, give bio-engineers a /samplemilk command. I don't care how much milk it gives, at least i would have a viable source. It could give one to two units per sample, and you could base it off the dna sampling skill tree. Call it the creature sampling skill tree? I don't know? But do something, you're killing some cool items in the game. Right now if i had 25 units of milk, i still wouldn't use it to make passive tranquilizers. Nope, i would put it on my table and admire it because it'll never happen again!
