Thread: Getting to know you and your profession!
A troll is someone who makes purposfuly inflamatory posts just to watch people react to it. They are just trying to "stir the pot" to create arguments and angry reactions. Trolling for reactions, thus trolls.

I find this post VERY disturbing. You are basically saying that nothing that we say matters and that we are all wrong and that just because your ch friends dont complain we shouldnt eathier. Also, why are dissing trolls? You are refering to thread trolls right? The common term that I know of as a person that has a ton of posts and just hangs out here. That could actually be considered harrassment. "I am all out of troll food today"... Whats up with that? Its a fact that many many things are wrong with the CH profesion but people dont tend to complain because thats not a good trait to have if you havent noticed. People dont like people who just complain all the time.

Tiggs asked for the opinions of dancers on their #1 issue. We have a right to express what we think that is. If you're only here to debate the AFK issue, we have a thread stickied exactly for that purpose...take it there.
In short, when content was designed to counter the offensive capabilities of the heavy attack classes, while also countering the extreme effectiveness of composite armor, we got slammed. We wound up with content that fencers could barely damage (challenging to swordsman and rifleman = daunting to fencers), while also finding that our defenses mean little to nothing (high accuracy and high armor piercing = no defenses for fencer).
In short, this content pegs our weaknesses while taking away our advantages. I'll assume that the combat revamp will change much of this conversation, which is a Very Good Thing (tm). But when content is designed (or redesigned), we want this kept in mind.
Ents have low costs, just clothes, instruments and maybe a house/furniture. But compare income that they can make (without anything special like a gig) only 2k in as many hours you can see how they are bit miffed that any other proffesion with combat skills can make 1 or 2 millon that time.
True with gigs you can make 100K or more but that only comes after being a master.
I can understand why people want BF clearing botts in every starport. This a sympton of the problem with the game. Really what people want is a fun class to play that makes a decent wage and they want this just as much as anyone else does in the game. Just by removing macros from game you are not curing the issues that most people have with entaining in this galaxy.
Buffing is painful when compared to doc buffing and its just so damn unreliable. I buffed two people in the same group one got a full buff and the other got 15 min even though both had been animated as listing to me for the required number of flourishes. Personally i think musican buffs and dancer buffs are totally unrated. You would never expect to walk up to a doc and demand them for free, or make the payment optional.
Personally making ent' buffing easier to do, making the class more fun (no clue how) would go a long way to curing these other problems. Though macros do have other down sids as pointed out in this thread very well.

Yeah, except that if someone's #1 issue is AFK'ing and the me-toos appear, you can't have a consipiracy of silence. There are plenty of entertainers who are fine with AFK'ing, regardless of the details of the debate about it.
My #1 issue for Dancer is variety and richness of game content. There should be more things we can do in the game besides skill animation after skill animation. It's nice that we get +7 melee and ranged defense mods at Master, but how about a couple of special attacks or moves that would be consistent with someone who's presumably got an acrobat's strength and agility? For example, a rolled attempt at Mounting some raging beast that you could then pull away from your hunt group. Or a leap or spin move of some kind. Or some +mods in Brawler because of your conditioning. Things that would make the profession interesting to more people for reasons besides mule utility and socialization.
Whyever would they choose to actually add some content for a profession nobody actually plays? The only point in adding content isif there is an active community out there to use it.
Now, is there any chance of rerailing this thread? Or has it just become another buffbot sticky?

hmmmm I know you dont play on my server.
The cost of specialized tapes for dancer are in the millions. and the stupid thing is the tapes only benefit those I buff /heal..not me.
I had to take on a combat profession just to make money. Not like you get to do gigs back to back like you can money making missions
