Can't you all just be happy for DEs for crying out loud? I mean good grief, the petty jealousy is embarassing.

So *WHAT* if they are getting a great non-ch droid. GOOD FOR THEM! Its about time they got something nice.

The only thinga non-ch pet does for someone is help them get off the newbie planet faster. These non ch pets and droids are little more than speedbumps on the advanced planets doing advanced content.

Ok I didn't feel like reading the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been suggested or not.

Since DEs get combat modules for their pets, how about Bio-Engineers get modules for theirs?

You know, like an armor module made by Armor Smiths, or weapon modules from Weapon Smiths? Of course, a pet could only have one or two module slots, but it would give us an even greater flexibility and customization, and isn't that what we are all about?

Certainly, there must be cybornetic creatures in the Star Wars universe.

Personally, I think it would be pretty cool to have a durni running around with steel skin, shooting lasers from its eyes

As one person just posted, DEs are getting NERFED beyond words. I just started grinding DE and checked their boards.

New 'bots will have AR0 and 20% max resists. This change will be _retroactive_, hitting all old bots as well. Our CL10s will eat them for lunch. Our CL10s with buffs with eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I've been an occasional poster in the "CL10 BE pets are broken" threads, always using the current AR2 40% resist 'bots as my counter-example. Well kiss them good-bye. With all the info in the DE forum from their (soon to depart) correspondant working on the test center makes it look like they will be much less useful than our BE CL10s. So much so, that I really can't see too many people buying them.

So we'll probably have an increase in demand for our pets...you know, those pets that we still have no idea if any given pet is "valid" or not.

Lets just check this a second, the loss of armor and 20% resists might be not as bad as you think considering the DPS is being raised along with the HAM. If so then the new 920 HAM probots have an effective HAM of 1150 for all damage types. Their DPS is 80 (120 damage at 1.5s). Looking at the shaupant and the peko peko again I wonder how it'll fair now. The fact is that the new probots should be able to give the peko peko a tough fight but stands a chance of losing too.

Shaupant (CL9)

Actual HAM is 900, effective HAM vs energyis also 900. DPS for this animal is 45.

Shaupants kills probot in 25 seconds.

Probot kills shaupant in 11 seconds.

Result: Probot wins with roughly 50% damage left, it is higher than CL9-10

Peko Peko (CL14)

Actual health was 2329. No energy resistance so it's still 2329. Max DPS for thiswas 80

Peko peko kills probot in 14 seconds.

Probot kills peko peko in 29 seconds.

Result: Probot loses having only caused 50% damage to peko peko, it is lower than CL14-15

The bottom line here is that now the probot is too weak, it needs to be given either aroundanother 1200 points of effective HAM or a higher DPS. The effective HAM itself could be created by adding light armor while keeping the current resistances or they could simply increase the resistances to 60% rather than leaving then at 20%.

I just checked on the DE forum to get the full results on the new probot. It looks like they have actually increased the DPS while adding additional HAM when they removed the light armor and lowered the resists. The stats are now as follows:

Adv Probot (03/09/04) 1100 HAM/ 149 - 159 Damage/ 0.75 Speed/ 0.38 To Hit

This places the effective HAM as 1375 and the DPS at 200! The accuracy is also far higher than your average wild CL15-20 mob. Running the test again the results are as follows:

Shaupant (CL9)

Actual HAM is 900, effective HAM vs energyis also 900. DPS for this animal is 45.

Shaupants kills probot in30 seconds.

Probot kills shaupant in4 seconds!

Result: Probot wins by a huge margin, it is far higher than CL9-10

Peko Peko (CL14)

Actual health was 2329. No energy resistance so it's still 2329. Max DPS for thiswas 80

Peko peko kills probot in17 seconds.

Probot kills peko peko in11 seconds.

Result: Probot wins with 30% condition remaining meaning it is higher than CL14-15

so i need to take it against tougher enemies....

A Male Swamp Tusk Cat (CL17)
Actual health is 3900, effective vs energy is 4095. Max DPS is 90.

Tusk cattakes15 seconds to kill Probot.

Probot takes20 seconds to kill Tusk cat.

Result: Probot might just loseis around CL15-16, slightly more powerful than it is at the moment but still within reason.

Forgot to add, at the same time, the DroidCommander should be able to control a veritable army of droids

Droid armor will no longer be able to get a rating of medium, only resists next patch.
