Thread: Question to TH: Invalid pets, submitted 5/3/04
LOL TH, didn't even post Part 2 of the Friday Feature... hahaha... after saying in Part 1 they would post 2 parts b/c they weren't gonna post one this week due to E3... I guess with 3 PST came along, he decided to say screw it, b/c he won't have to deal with it for a week...
HAHAHA
I'm really itching to fire of the Dev's... You sure you won't let me fire up my inscessant-posting thread again, Nancy?

This little bug really blows. Sure, it only affects a very few players who want to sell honest merchandise on their vendors. I suppose we could simply unanomously agree to peddle 100k ileegitimate CL10 pet deeds and tell our irate customers to go cry to the developers, couldn't we?
Might actually be fun... *ponders*.. ah well.. guess not. ![]()

No - noconstant self bumping
As for selling the pets to make the other players cry - try targetting Jedio - maybe then we'll get their attention...
Eg - DNA is a unique item, its dangerous to get and really bites when you crit fail - ditto Krayt tissues and RIS components - this has been a problem pretty much since release - Jedi cry about their crystals and pearls - oh well they dont lose them on a crit any more but everyone else just has to suck it up and deal with it

Architects do lose all material and components when they crit fail. However to get a real crit fail in architect you have to do so twice in a row. The firstfail is free and you can hit the craft button again. Interesting enough when architects crit failing was a huge issue, BE's were a bit bugged at the time and they got to keep all the DNA samples after a fail. Seems the tide has turned on this. Crit failing does need to be addressed in some fashion.
Thanks for the clearification

Architects dont lose their stuff because of the massive amounts of resources involved - the distinction between the two cases is slight but still valid
I agree there is a distinction. Architects has massive amounts of resources that are all gathered by harvesters regardless of if they are on-line, off-line, or hunting with their PA.
BE's have to gather DNA by hand. Usually from some of the hardest creatures in the game, and usually spending a lot of game time doing so.
I still think its a valid point for us to have the same benefits ![]()
Tuesday AM.. hmmm. We've drifted into the crit fail arena.
I like the fact people crit fail. Jedi should lose pearls.. architects should lose stuff as well. Just a personal opinion. Instead of simply removing the odds of a crit, why don't they simply adjust the odds?
Oh.. cause they would have to THINK about what odds to give it.
hmmm
They do not add any additional enjoyment to my playing of the game - they add signifcant frustration and annoyance but nothing pleasurable is gained from them.
This is a game right? Everything i do should be fun... or am I missing the point?
TH said that crit fails were what made it a game - the risk vs reward factor - well thats just plain BS, risk vs reward only works when you have control of the risk and the reward.
You risk more for a better reward, if I play a fighting character I have several control points, I can choose whether or not to wear armour, I can choose whether or not to clone and insure, I can choose to use my best gun or a cdef, I can choose to a certain extent the difficulty of the mission -a ll these things control the risk I put myself at - the more I risk the more I stand to gain from it.
But this doesnt work for crafting - the risk is always the same at master level and there is nothing you can do to control it
Well.. I'll support BE's having no crit failure as loong as me and my GF's professions all get the same benefit... We have a Tailor, Armorsmith, Architect, Weaponsmith, Chef, DE and now a BE.
Equality for all crafters, ok?
